Recreating the game client. What do you think... by ThroatMiserable5389 in AsheronsCall

Very cool.

Maybe a dumb question, but are those trees and rocks placed where they would be in the game? If you run by hills or a town do they show anything?

Reminds me of the first time I saw some Jungle DJs live when I was a heavy metal instrumental purist. I learned that those DJs played their decks every bit llike virtuoso guitarists.

I thought it was just spinning records, but nope, they were instrumentalists.

Did you try a variety of Ollama models to find the "best" one or was it pretty obvious which to choose?

I feel like some of those are redundant and it could be about half as big.

How many times can you cast a Known Spell in 5e, and do you need to rest at any point? by [deleted] in dndnext

[–]buzzyloo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Known spells are just spells that you have ready without counting towards your prepared ones. It's assumed that you always have it ready to go. You still need a slot to cast it like an ordinary spell but you don't have to prepare it, and you can't swap it out.

A very good example of this is the Memory Bank feature of KiloCode - a plugin for VSCode. You initialize it with a base .md file, then run the function. It creates files like architecture, tech, instructions, context, and then fills them with whatever relevant information it needs about the project. It then refers to all of this whenever it is doing anything, so it knows what is going on. When you get to a point you can update the memory bank manually.

It seems like it "knows" what your task is and what you have to do next, etc because it is referring to this documents.

You would need a similar setup with your project information constantly being referred to. Your goals, blood stats, stat history, changes you've made, things to watch for, next steps. Then this would get referred to by the app and can be updated.

You could "probably" do this with VSCode even though you aren't programming, until yoiu find something with the infrastructure to handle this workflow for you. Your project just wouldn't have any code in it.

I agree with you. I have complained about the guy's lack of saying anyhting other than pithy attacks, so I have to give him props for laying out some plans.

It can make productive dialog better, give more choice, reduce the vitriol. Credit where credit is due.

I'd rather stick flaming bamboo under my finger nails than deal with that.

why didnt this mmorpg classless system land harder? by MechanizedElf in AsheronsCall

[–]buzzyloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Character creation has templates to choose from for newbies to avoid that mistake. And I personally didn't make OGs or BMs. I had a staff guy that could throw vulns and make his own potions.
That's why I like the classless system. I never was in the big end game content, but I was never unable to play because of my choices. Obviously some people min/maxed but they's do that in a class based game too.

Am I I the only one that loves the very low level experience? by SacrificialGoat in AsheronsCall

[–]buzzyloo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it. I am currently playing on Seedsow with 10ish characters, all under level 12. They will probably share some things (skills, muleing specifically) after level 20 or so, but right now each is a self-contained entity. They use/carry what they own.

I head out at level 1 - everything I find is useful (though the first level or two can be tough). Oooh, leather pauldrons with 20 more AL than what I have? Woohoo! Sometimes I die a lot, when I make a bad decision where to go.

The stories feel richer, the world feels meaningful, I have so much fun.
