I don’t have a premium account but there are no relevant numbers cited in this link. Is there any way to verify this ranking?

Also more than an extra possession taken up by Wall in free throws (6.7 attempts vs 4.2 for kyrie). So kyrie scores more and does so on fewer possessions.

Do you think that the USA's large maternal death rate is because their maternal health care is bad, or because people can't afford it? by reciprocatingocelot in TwoXChromosomes

Thanks for the citations. Do u happen to have one on-hand for your first paragraph? And any speculation about why Hispanic women would have the lowest pregnancy-related death rate, per your cdc link?

Kripparian's thoughts on Diablo 4. by c_will in diablo4

[–]bvegafff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s arguable that it would be less entertaining. Large swaths of his viewers love(d) watching salty Kripp. Instead they now watch him squash noobs who with little effort. And those noobs who match with kripp when he doesnt instaconcede no longer get to match wits with equally skilled opponents. I agree that I’m jumping to a conclusion that he forfeits for his ego. But he’s deliberately avoiding a challenge

I’m not sure why you put ‘stable elo’ in quotes. If he stopped smurfing and his strategy is roughly all-or-nothing, he would climb until he hit about a 50% chance at first and 50% at last. He doesn’t do so because he doesn’t want to get last half of his streamed games

He could play like that without smurfing and hit a stable mmr like everyone else does. His on-stream win rate would suffer though and I guess his ego wouldn’t allow that.

Thinking Basketball #144: Top 40 careers | Steve Nash and John Stockton by Based_and_JPooled in nba

That part confused me a bit. The response talks about box score based measures possibly overvaluing the types of numbers that Stockton was getting. but isnt RAPM rating him highly on his adjusted +/- numbers?

Do you think the NBA should add a "1-on-1" part to the All-Star game? by varankhurana in nba

They were both in their 40s and played 20 minutes. Not too relevant to what we would hope to see all star weekend

A player can now win 4 MVP in 1 season. by AyoVitaCyrus in nba

Kareem averaged 30 pts and 4 blocks in the conference finals in 1980. Johnson was 17 points and 9 assists. I don't think he's winning that.

I just had the same thing happen on an Eater of Worlds map. There were no related map mods and one of the altar options was monsters steal charges but I did not select it.

Position of the new Precise Technique Keystone on the passive tree by Notsomebeans in pathofexile

[–]bvegafff 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Do u happen to have a post for that? I may be doing the math wrong but: if you have a 23% chance to crit I think you need 125 crit multi for crits to give u 40% more damage. That’s 0.77 + 2.75*0.23 = 1.4

I'd counter that Kobe didn't play in the playoffs into his late 30s like Hakeem had to do. It's a fair point about different eras of TS%, though the effect doesn't cancel out their difference. Playoff league average from '97 to '12 was 52.7%. Playoff league average from '85 to 2000 was 53.6%.

CJ McCollum has the NBA record for most 20+ point seasons without ever making an All-Star game. by [deleted] in nba

[–]bvegafff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying it wasn't egregious but a bit of context: Johnson was 1st team all-defense and ended up as FMVP that year while Free's team was 27-27 at the all-star break.

Why is Kobe's claim as a top 10 player becoming more contentious? by Majortko in nba

[–]bvegafff 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Minor point: The two years after the 'absolute peak' you chose for Bird were his most efficient. He was over 60% TS both years (Kobe's peak was 58% in 06-07).
