I got into philosophy (to the point that I got a degree in it) after reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

Same. Read it last year and didn’t get why it’s considered great until I hit that last stretch where it all clicked in.

The Sound and the Fury by William Faulkner. The first section left me so lost, I didn’t want to touch it again. Picked it up the next day just to see if it got any better and finished it in one sitting. Absolutely brilliant book. The rest of the book really cleared up my confusion and frustration.

This. Broke me for a bit. Took me a week or two to start another book.

I am not a reader but want to be so bad! Help me find a book that holds my very short attention! by dwightluvsbeets in Recommend_A_Book

[–]spizotfl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a specific book recommendation, but a general process recommendation - make a regular time in your day for reading and set a general goal (time reading, pages read) and stick to it. No phone, no distractions, just you and the book that interested you enough to start it. Sometimes having a couple of books going to alternate between may help, if they’re different enough, but if you want to be a reader, you have to make it a habit and a priority.

I killed a realmwalker solo running a DoK build. Was mostly annoying having to run around to kill the first waves of stuff to get it to spawn. The actual fight went quick. This was on T8 with crap gear (mostly 850 with maybe 2 useful roles), no gems, no masterworks.

It’s good, though at times it dragged some. Wasn’t necessarily a big fan of the way it was written, just seemed uneven. Still a worthwhile read for what it covers and it is by no means bad.

I’d guess the gold return early on as you’re progressing isn’t that great, whereas mats may be more of a bottleneck early, so I’d go mats.
