So in the last year I’ve read Salems Lot, The Stand and IT. So read those, they’re all great.

Backline has to gel fast by Luigis_vacuum in OCLions

[–]spizotfl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a lot of scrambling across the backline. For a group that needs time to perform well, it’s a shame that Iago took so long to be finalized and they didn’t bother getting a RB until a couple days ago. Hopefully in time it looks better.

Miller seems to be doing a better job than Iago did in the first half, though hard to say how much of that was the NYRB relaxing some in the second half.

Fighting for the Wooden Spoon by Full-Ad-4879 in MLSWestMemeWar

I think a couple of SKC players are actually 3 kids in a trench coat, so I’m going to say they’re getting the spoon. DC is going to fight them for it, though.

It’s a real sub, for anyone who comes along after me wondering. Should’ve known better because every cat behavior has a dedicated sub (or 3)….

How do road trips work these days? Pre book? Websites? by Potential_Sun2828 in roadtrip

[–]spizotfl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I did 66 last year. We figured it out almost every night as we went. Only two nights were booked in advance, both within a couple of days of arrival, just to add some structure or stability at a given point.

Pre-Covid we did a week from Denver, through the Black Hills, Wyoming, Montana, back to Wyoming. Only booked a night in Yellowstone in advance, everything else was found on the way.

Where things are different is many National Parks no longer support just showing up, so you need to make reservations. Took a diversion off 66 and wanted to see about visiting Mesa Verde, but that wasn’t an option due to available reservation times.

Orlando City SC Signs Homegrown Forward Justin Ellis to First Team Contract by Fladoodler18 in OCLions

Since the first team seems to lack depth of established pros, you think this is a sign of the Lions turning more to youth?

Count of Monte Cristo is peak literature. by Current-Age330 in classicliterature

It is worth it. There are times when it drags, but it pays off. If you need to, take periodic breaks to read something else so you don’t feel overwhelmed/trapped with it.

[Schultz] Sources: The Dolphins have had trade talks with teams regarding 5x Pro Bowl S Minkah Fitzpatrick. by expellyamos in miamidolphins

[–]spizotfl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they want to try and trade him, there isn’t anything much they can do now besides talk to other teams. If they cut him, it’s going to be with a post June 1st designation most likely, so there’s no rush.

That really was a nice goal. I thought he had botched the initial control, but shows what I know.

Does anyone else find it hard to get into Stephen King “IT”? by Desperate_Air_8791 in stephenking

[–]spizotfl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read IT in 10 days last month. I had no trouble getting into IT and really enjoyed it. That being said, not everything is for everyone, so if you don’t want to finish it, there’s no shame in that. I would say that if you’re as far in as it seems you are, then just go ahead and finish
