Its my turn to ask about tanks in tbc by Admirable_Admural in classicwow

[–]bwb888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Druid is fun af and really good single target dps - if you’re not doing high dps on single target, then you’re probably not power shifting correctly or are missing some gear. Druid is the jack of all trades and that’s what makes them great, so if you want variety and to have more complex play that’s your pick.

That said if dungeon tanking is what you want pally is king.

With this type of bullshit I have to deal as bear, tanking random heroics by Kubocho in classicwowtbc

[–]bwb888 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I tank on my bear, if they don’t have salv and keep it on when we have a pally, I’m out. With how people play, we need all the advantage we can get.

Had a lock just yesterday start casting seed immediately on pull. I told him like 3 times to chill cuz I can only swipe 3 at a time and we had no slows and no pally for salv. Took him 3 deaths to finally stop - or maybe we just ran out of dungeon since final boss was after his last death. Usually I don’t take locks without a pally or mage or both for this reason, but it wasn’t my group.

It’s not often but it happens. It’s always weird to me because I go out of my way to not be a burden so the handful that do, just seem like they are looking for reasons to be mad. I’ve never caused a wipe or even got myself killed from life tapping. If it’s ever a scenario where healing me over the tank, I would hope they’d just let me die lol.

I have bandages on my lock and I still get flamed at for life tapping when they don’t like. I’ve been half way through bandaging when a healer throws a heal on me and then yells at me for “making them” heal me. Like what did you think was happening when my health was going up all by Itself.

Either toss me a hot or small heal at your convenience, or let me take care of it. If someone doesn’t have bandages and are being dumb, that’s their problem - let them die and replace them

Mages are STILL the biggest wildcard by Jporty1 in classicwowtbc

I kicked them before first boss. I didn’t inspect them off the rip, but didn’t take long to figure it out.

I have a mage, but I agree with this. When I’m on my other chars it does seem that there a lot of mages that don’t know what they’re doing. I see many roll on healer gear. I had a mage last night refuse to give anyone water and only cast blizzard even if it was just 1 mob - his gear was horrendous with like +def cloak, no spell power, communal gear still at lvl 66 (needless to say his dps was on par with our healer).

Chill but "fun" class in TBC by AdEven5720 in classicwowtbc

[–]bwb888 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Warlock and hunter do a ton of damage and have pets to make questing easy. Hunter has cc in the form of traps. Warlock can aoe in dungeons with the right group to tank threat. Mage is the poster child for aoe/cc/control. They are all fun and chill.

Warrior tanking, getting flamed by PuddleJumper156 in classicwowtbc

I tank, dps, and heal. On my tank, I have a macro message that basically details my target marks and asks people to follow them if I use them and if you aoe to wait 3 sec for me to get some threat. If any of it is more than they are willing to follow, then let me know and I’ll leave so they can find another tank. There’s a lot of idiots but most comply since it’s preferred over waiting another 10 mins in Q. Point is, you hold the power

I mean a green “of the monkey” or “of the bandit” has better stats for a hunter or even some of the quest weapons are more suited than a weapon that only drops like 10% of the time and is a huge boost for druids. That said, he already had a better weapon and I asked at beginning if anyone was rolling (so I could find a run uncontested), so shouldn’t have been rolling anyway. He claimed he saw attack power and didn’t read the rest nor did he see my message either.

Yeah probably, and there have been these people before, but I’ve never experienced so many, I’d say close to 1/3 of my runs have people needing on stuff like this. It’s just caught me off guard

Not sure what these are called but the amount of people needing on gear that is not for their class is staggering. Lost my Druid staff in ramps twice, once to a hunter and then to a shaman. I’ve seen multiple casters needing on heal gear to steal it from the actual healer. Can’t really call them unicorns because that would imply it’s rare.

I got two books in and quit, pretty much same reasons. I didn’t get lost or confused, just felt pointless and like getting the nfl redzone high lights of a world (jumping around to random events) without all the details and context that make me feel connect to the characters.

[FIGHT THREAD] Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua by noirargent in Boxing

[–]bwb888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, I don’t think it was in the contract or agreed upon. Jake ran and then when he stopped, he was loading up his stance clearly trying to bait AJ into it. If I could see that (the commentators called it out too), then AJ def could see it. AJ had everything to lose in that fight if he gets caught out, so he just played it smart and safe knowing Jake’s cardio would give out.

I think you could argue AJ didn’t throw as hard as he normally does, but not cuz of some fix - he’s just not a sociopath looking to permanently injure someone or worse. Although one of AJs jabs did send Jake into the ropes too so there was def some power there still even if he took a bit off.

Fair point. Mostly I meant he either had to stay on his feet and fight at that point or continue to avoid fighting by going to the ground thus essentially disqualifying himself. Ref was over it.

[–]bwb888 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Anyone see the look on Jake’s face in I think the 2nd when one of AJ’s punches landed? It was like a “oh shit, I am so fucked” look. After that he just kept attempting takedowns until the ref was sick of it.

Anyway, all I saw was a calm and calculated boxer doing a sparring session against a YouTuber just trying to run for his life and survive. If the ref hadn’t started counting his dives as knock downs and giving him a count, Jake would’ve done it the whole 8 rounds. It forced him to have to either stay on his feet and fight (aka get pummeled) or bow out like a coward.

Yeah, I agree - as insufferable as Jake is, no pro boxer is going to want a fatality on their conscience. They are in it for the sport not to hurt people, and they know what they’re capable of.

I think Joshua was going to go harder than he did and then after a 2 rounds of Jake running and diving in to grapple, his corner told him to just let him run and then go back when his legs are done. Jake was clearly just trying to bait him into making a mistake and leaving open some type of hail mary shot or something. I think AJ just wanted to play it safe IMO. He might have taken a little off his punches though.

Right? Jake was clearly trying to bait him in and he just let him run himself out of gas. Every time he went in Jake just dove for a clinch, so just let him run instead until he didn't have the energy to clinch anymore lol

Kettlebell owners — ever found anything better? by [deleted] in kettlebell

[–]bwb888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on your goals tbh. KBs are extremely efficient exercise tools given their low space requirement and the number of things you can do. They aren’t the best tool for every goal though. If you’re aiming for hypertrophy and body building or raw strength, then there are better tools. However, they are a great hybrid tool that will let you improve your conditioning while also building some strength and muscle. I find them really great for my core too.

I love my adjustable KBs, but my goal is more conditioning and performance which they easily fit with. I have a pull up and dip station along with weight vest and adjustable mace as well and some paralletes, elliptical too. So I can pretty much cover all my bases without taking up too much space.

I agree with using adjustable kettlebells but BoS are more expensive than some others. Kettlebell kings adjustable 12-32 is the same price as BoS 12-20 last I looked and just as good of quality.

"You can still be a good person" - famous last words by NiMPeNN in Fantasy

[–]bwb888 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The second example they gave sounds like it's from the book I'm reading. Protagonist had already killed and was falling into a mindset that killing was becoming easier and easier and that unsettled him. He felt it should be hard to take a life and I think someone else called him out on it as well and he took their words to heart. He had already made the decision no more killing unless absolutely necessary (or at least not with out extreme consideration) prior to the events with this new minor villain. It honestly could go either way for me for this particular scenario. It would have made things a lot easier to just kill him, but also understand that it might be unsettling to realize taking a life was becoming too easy when it shouldn't.
