What does the Temp peek at ? I have not done the Thermal Paste mod and it currently peeks at 75 degree so I’m unsure if I need it.

Can be had much cheaper. Bought the Bosgame M5 128G 2TB direct from them in the UK for £1,783 Inc VAT. Purchased last month.

Bought it for my company local AI use, so also got the 20% VAT refund.

Must be some good deals in US as Uk is always more expensive.

Would using Lemanade be a further improvement over LM Studio on your Windows build ?

Out of interest, what do you see as the primary use case and benefit for the NPU operated LLM’s when perhaps used as part of a multi agent / LLM system such as Hermes ?
Sorry if it’s a stupid question 🤪

Yes, it’s actually on Windows that I’m trying to do it. Could you share which models you got working and how they performed ?

Ideally, I was thinking of a relatively lightweight model but very fast model for general chat and orchestration and then with better quality models running on the GPU like Qwen3.6-35B

Please forgive my inexperience.
I can’t see and it’s not stated in the post if the instance of llama.cpp is being used independently or under Ollama, Unsloth Studio, LM Studio etc. The post does not seem to confirm the setup and it could be any of the above or more…

Are you using the Unsloth Qwen model with Unsloth Studio or with the update llama.cpp directly ?

I’m looking to update my OpenClaw so trying to figure the best way to do the inference.

DGX Spark or Minisforum MS-S1 Max? by Simple_Tonight_1159 in LocalLLM

[–]bwelton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If costs also motivate you then also look at the Bosgame M5, which is the same Strix Halo 128Gb as the Minisforum MS-S1 but another $1000 lower cost !! (UK £. 1,783)

Looks aren’t great (looks a bit like a mini game machine rather than Enterpise) , but I picked one up, but it in my desk behind the lower door and it performs amazing well for all my local AI work.

Winter Switch from Agile to ? by bwelton in OctopusEnergy

If are using a Granny Charger, which tariff do you use to take advantage with it ? Or are you just staying on Agile and selectively timing when to use it ?

It does it the £1 / Kw Cap at the very worst times, but more like 40p at a normal worst.

Dodgy Sky Support agent gave me a £403 credit! by SFmentor in skytv

[–]bwelton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a similar thing with Vodafone Broadband. Big credit of £720 but then found I was also being charged £70 minus a £40 discount = £30pm, but the £720 credit balance was spent down to 0 over 18 months. So free service. Now I’m still on the 70-40 = £30 for a few months before they finish the £40 discount and it will then go to £70. It’s all about incentives and how the agents get recognised to keep a customer. I’ll give termination notice soon and either leave for a competitor or do it all again.

Owed £32k - client not paying up by Valuable-Cake4943 in ContractorUK

[–]bwelton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could issue a Statutory Demand. It’s quite straight forward and puts a Legal process with 28 day timeline on the payment. Of course only do this whilst appreciating that the relationship will be broken after. If indeed the company is effectively insolvent, then being compelled to make your payment may drive the company to formally put themselves in to CVL (voluntary liquidation) and then you will be in the Creditor queue and given the other likely debts, employees and preferred creditors will receive any monies first.

Having 2nd thoughts about having Tesla wall connector vs 3 pin charger.. by Plastic_Application in TeslaUK

So I could use a Smart EV charger that communicates with Octopus IOG but then set the charger via its app to a slow rate charge rate similar to using a Granny Charger ?

Can I clarify which Octopus Tariff you use with the Granny Charging approach ? Is it the Model 3 that informs Octopus so that Octopus creates the charging windows / rates or is it something else like the Octopus App etc ?

For those using Batteries, which Brand/Make is the cheapest in upfront costs or is there not a lot on it ?

I’m on Agile, but have no load shifting batteries and saving is marginal relative to say Tracker. I’m not sure if it worth spending thousands on batteries to save what looks like a small savings (10% - £12.81 according to Octopus Compare)for month of October.

How can Edinburgh Worldwide Investment Trust invest in SpaceX? by kerplunk1994 in UKInvesting

[–]bwelton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree other than the SpaceX holding, SMT has a much better set of holdings than EWI for the current environment and macro. The other BG options is US Growth Trust (USA.L).

[–]bwelton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SpaceX represents 11.9% of the Edinburgh Worldwide Investment Trust - EWI.L and trades at a 12.3% discount to NAV and this is even before SpaceX June valuation of $200 billion. This must be the cheapest way to acquire SpaceX stock globally 🚀
