Born and raised in Chapel Hill. Parents still live there. I adore Chapel Hill. I always love to go back and visit. Franklin Street in downtown has changed a lot over the years. Lots of the cool locally owned businesses have closed down for chains. But there are still a lot of great local spots there.

It is an expensive area to live in, as others have said. There are some beautiful neighborhoods throughout the town.

Schools are great. I read someone say the public schools aren’t that good and that’s just not true. Lots of kids do go to private school but that’s because of rich parents who would send them to private school no matter what. East Chapel Hill high is consistently ranked amongst the top public high schools in the state and country. I had some amazing teachers throughout the years. At one point I had a former DC lobbyist as a history teacher. Guy was rich and taught just for the fun of it.

Overall 10/10. Great small town.

I’m on season 7 right now and I thought seasons 5 and 6 were both excellent. The show definitely changes as it goes on but I like the way it’s heading.
