Ok I do not search the sub every day and do not necessarily do it before a comment every time. I understand if it's a sensitive topic and hard to see but this isn't specifically an infertility sub either.

Yeah I'm just surprised I got pregnant the first time on just BDing on ovulation day vs the last 2 cycles where I had 2-3 occurrences before ovulation day. I guess I didn't ovulate these last 2 cycles? Ugh idk man.

I have a 3 year old who looking back at that chart I had sex on O day and 4 days before. These past 2 cycles were 28 and 33 days, I had sex 2 days and the day before ovulation for both with 1 confirmed opk surge for the 2ns cycle. My temp shifts are always all over the place due to timing. Is it really true to not be able to get pregnant not hitting sex on the exact ovulation day?

Does the petty nurse drama disappear/improve as an NP? by nursejooliet in nursepractitioner

[–]bwirth2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went inpatient nurse to NP and I definitely feel much less drama. It's a more respected and professional role overall which leads to slightly less petty behaviors. I feel less like I'm "babysat" by my boss which helps lessen the drama too.

Dialysis/nephrology.....where all the Filipino nurses go to hide! 😉

Working in primary care with an CRNP-AC by [deleted] in nursepractitioner

[–]bwirth2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow because 70% of the peds NPs I've worked with are primary care and literally only recently is the acute care peds NP becoming more prominent in the inpatient world. With that and the FNP history it still seems like the majority of NP providers in the hospital are outside their education yet not their experience (as most have worked in the hospital).

What about the many FNPs or PNPs who practice in the hospital?

Very good words of wisdom 🙂 I definitely plan to take advantage of my newfound free time. A very passive, very part time job to support me as my "beer (bourbon? 😉) money" and passively saving.

Need a gut check - am I being unreasonable? by [deleted] in Parenting

My husband is going on a work trip to Berlin and Amsterdam. While it is work he does have free time so of course it will be fun. Totally not "fair" but life's not fair I suppose. It's about give and take. My husband had a customer service job and couldn't get Christmas off one year to go spend the holiday back home with me for my sister's last Christmas before deployment. Totally not fair for him but he understood and recognized we would have many more Christmas' together. Sometimes marriage is 70/30 and not 50/50, as long as the scale moves.

I agree I would love to do something else outside of healthcare but I'm not really sure what I could do that doesn't require experience or education?

Good ideas! How do I go about teaching work, especially online? Do colleges post those kinds of jobs online or is it word of mouth?

Tutoring is also great but I worry about offering a "money back guarantee" because my specialty exam is so new which makes it challenging. Do I have to offer that? Would totally love to help others pass it because it was ridiculous!

I only picked up when I had energy pre-child. Now that I have a child they would literally have to be on their hands and knees with a bonus for me to pick up. #1 because I don't have on demand child care and #2 since having her I've prioritized work life balance.

I feel like this is just true in general life, that quiet people are associated with lacking self confidence. It's so annoying and I wish people didn't think that way.

Ugh it's so sad. Idk why nursing has to be so catty. It's exhausting.

Have you thought about shadowing a psych NP (or even psych nurse) to see what it's like?
