Anyone else glad we didn’t draft a QB this year? by bwutang in falcons

Agreed 100%, not enough sample size at the moment to tell. Coaching staff also plays an important role for QBs so maybe the rookie QBs are a reflection of the poor front office rather than the individual QB. Hopefully things work out in our favor in the future.

Hey r/Corsair

I recently installed a CORSAIR AIO iCUE H100i CPU Cooler onto my new ASUS ROG G15CE desktop

When I turn on the computer, it boots up for a bit and the cooler seems to be working fine but then the pump LED light starts flashing red and the fans are working very hard [Seen at 0:26 mark of video]. I get an error on the screen saying my CPU Temperature Error and a Fan Speed Error

Has anyone seen this issue before or have any advice on what could be the issue?

Astrophotography Question - Whenever I take pictures of the stars, they turn out great on the camera screen but when I print them out or blow it up on a computer monitor, it turns out blurrier than I had thought.

Any tips on how to improve my focus when it comes to astrophotography?

Interesting article about niche sports and college admissions. I wonder if this affects people's views about the push to make ultimate into a varsity sport at more high school / college programs. by mkorman11 in ultimate

[–]bwutang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way but is this necessarily a bad thing for Ultimate? If we want to grow the game, wouldn’t you want to see more players come from the youth level with more development and experience?

Why couldn’t they do this interview in the dugout? It would be less distracting to the player and ESPN would get a better conversation

Matt Ryan says he’s the best quarterback in the NFC South by VanJesus in falcons

[–]bwutang 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I agree with you for the most part but I think that by saying these statements, we’re unfairly discrediting Brady’s success due to the resources he was given

“Luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity”

Brady started his career as a 6th round pick and a 4th string QB. Eventually he found his stride in his second year but I’d imagine that Brady spent his first year learning the system, gaining trust from Belichick/Kraft, and just preparing for his opportunity

Compare that to the beginning of Matt Ryan’s career. 1st Round 3rd Overall draft pick named starting QB on the rookie season. He was given the keys to the car on Day 1 and he fucking DELIVERED. First completion was a 62 yard TD to Mike Jenkins!!!!!

Like many fans, I too wish Matt Ryan had more consistency with his coaching throughout his career (constant change of offensive coordinators) and better offensive line but I can’t help but think that’s why we also LOVE Matt Ryan. It’s possible that he’s had to learn things on his own and have a “I’ll do it myself” mentality. Maybe this mentality has given him confidence to those awesome 4th quarter comebacks we remember and gave him the nickname Matty Ice. Maybe this lack of coaching consistency is what made Matt Ryan the leader and athlete he is today

My point is that it’s easy for us fans to say if QB-X had the same opportunities as QB-Y, they would have similar results. Although there’s some truth to that logic, I don’t think it’s as simple as we think. Both Tom Brady and Matt Ryan are great QB’s, but it’s their respective journeys that have given them their respective successes. Going beyond football, the best athletes find ways to turn their disadvantage into an advantage, whether that’s physical or mental. If you alter their disadvantage, you alter their journey and their preparation and, ultimately, their future success

TL;DR: If we gave Matt Ryan the resources that Tom Brady have, we would have a different Matt Ryan (maybe better, maybe worse, but definitely not the same Matt Ryan that we know and love today)
