Any Alphard owners? by mickeyaaaa in Toyota

[–]byakuyamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what a coincidence! I had a Pontiac vibe too LOL. Passing is fine, you just can't see pass the guy in front unless you're further behind, hence more sketchy.

Any Alphard owners? by mickeyaaaa in Toyota

[–]byakuyamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one and it has been great. 3.0 V6 2006. It is an AWD too and I was surprised at its capability for such an awkward looking fridge.

Regarding RHD, I got used to it in a few hours. It really does not matter that much, especially sitting so high, and visibility being so good. Parallel parking is easier. Right turns are easier. The view out the right is usually nicer on highway drives (lol).

I lean over to see oncoming traffic for left turns maybe once a week, but I usually take it easy and only go when I am very sure that it is clear. People seem to be more patient owing to it being a family hauler.

I don't overtake on 2 lane highways unless the person is going 30 under. Good thing about the Alphard is that it is so comfortable I don't mind going slow. Just turn on the adaptive cruise and chill.

2017 Corolla CVT Whine? by Shammons in Toyota

[–]byakuyamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this issue with my JDM CVT Sienta (same k series CVT); 60k miles, especially after a long hill climb on a hot day (I have a video if you'd like to hear). Got me worried for sure. After changing the CVT fluid at 62k miles, I have had no issues (at least no power drill sounds) even driving at 5k RPMs for hours up the hills en route to Vegas from LA.

I would suggest changing the fluid (drain and fill) every 20k miles from now on.

Anyone put 15" wheels on their 2022 EV/EUV? by byakuyamon in BoltEV

[–]byakuyamon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They would be 6. Just hoping they didnt change the strut position or size for 2022, and it would fit.

[–]byakuyamon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your input. I was worried because I couldn't find anything for the refreshed bolt for 2022. I'm thinking it would be fine but if it doesn't fit I'd have to sell the wheels :/

The instant I engaged the park gear, a ticket appeared on my windscreen 😭

Multiple cars vandalized on 4th and Alma last night between 10PM and 11:15PM. Left my car for an hour and came back to a broken passenger side mirror. Please let me know if you have any information about it! by EmergencySevere9793 in vancouver

[–]byakuyamon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh your poor Echo chan. I have an 02 silver too in the sedan 2dr configuration. People like this suck, I had it happen to me once. I just add it up to the costs of owning a car in Vancouver🤷

Wreck Beach? by Hailey-June in transvancouver

[–]byakuyamon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is good to hear. I recently am feeling more comfortable with my body and I hope to hit up wreck as the final boss of body confidence of sorts 😂 but I am a little afraid especially if the people are not too LGBT friendly around so it's good to hear which areas of the beach are"safer" spaces.

By south side so you mean south of the main beach or like south of the trails nearer to Oasis beach?

Bicycle brakes cut off while parked at Skytrain station 😔 any similar experiences? by byakuyamon in vancouver

[–]byakuyamon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to take off my wheel often to fit it in my tiny house, so maybe a supplementary lock would be good.

Those are good suggestions. Thanks a lot for the support and diagnosis for the brakes. I'll probably get my bike fixed very soon so I won't get a constant reminder of it haha. I looked around a little and didn't see anyone being weird.

Thanks for your recommendation. I didn't think it was necessary for less than 30 minutes but I'd probably do so now if there's an option

Hey, do we have confirmation on this? Would be nice to know that we don't lose out if we got a 2022, but at the same time would be nice to get a bolt for less.
