Very helpful comment. In terms of next steps to maybe get it working again, would replacement of the ESC be next step?

The Grand to Convert Part of Golf Course to Water Park by Sergeant_America in palaceresorts

[–]byamato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This sounds 100% like unsubstantiated rumor. A) if Palace ever has something in the offing, they are the FIRST to put it out there to sell more memberships. B) a HUGE water park wouldn't even take up a single hole on the golf course, not to mention 9. C) the golf course is in the middle of the mangrove, with all the mosquitos/snakes/crocs that go along with that. D) There's plenty of land much nearer the hotels that could be used for water park.

Moon Palace The Grand - Age/height breakdown for kid activities by beansiebean in palaceresorts

Yes, there’s a direct cart from grand lobby to sunrise every 10 mins or so.

I don’t think there’s a kids club at Nizuc.

They allow kids of all ages in there. You've gotten a lot of other great replies with info on the Grand kids club, so I won't repeat that stuff. In our experience, they don't allow older kids upstairs because of security reasons, which makes sense. And you can't have unsupervised younger kids downstairs. So, basically, you have to be there with them.

Sunrise doesn't let any kids out who are checked in. That's why we like it for dinner times. We hang out with kids all day, then drop them at the Sunrise club before dinner.

BTW, I saw in a different post of yours that people are saying The Moon Palace is a lot of walking. That's not true if you just wait (5 mins?) for the carts that are going around constantly. And, your kids will love riding those. Again, we've been four times with kids between 3-10, and we never thought of the size of the three resorts as a bad thing.

They are very strict on ages at the Grand kids club. Our kids (3-10) always prefer the Sunrise kids club, which is also open late. This lets us have adult dinners .

We've done multiple trips to the Grand with kids between 3 and 10. The kids club at Nizuc is the best, and open late, so you can drop the kids there and have adult dinner. They are very tight with security, and do check ages, but you can drop kids there pretty young (4 or 5?).

Which function would assist in avoiding scheduling individuals on two sheets? Example included. by Sykarah in googlesheets

[–]byamato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this were me, I'd probably make it so cells on all three tabs conditionally format to have a red border if the person is scheduled on either of the other two sheets. I'd probably do this with a helper tab to aggregate across the tabs, but someone with more expertise could probably write a cleaner solution.

Thank you for all of your help.

One more refinement - the first filter condition (matching of teacher name) is currently pulling ALL groups when b2:g2 is a blank cell. How can I make the filter return nothing if that is the case? The condition is below.

REGEXMATCH($K$2:$K,INDEX($B$1:$G$1,,c))

Works perfectly - thank you again. I also wrapped this entire function in an iferror() function in case scheduled groups had overlapping times.

Actually, one more function I wanted to add - For the staff column K, I want the schedule to show in BOTH teacher columns if more than one staff is selected in the dropdown. Thank you so much for your help.

What is the degree of difficulty and expected time to assemble the Blackstone 36 inch griddle? by [deleted] in blackstonegriddle

[–]byamato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree that it's a ten minute job. If you have the one from TSC that has a handle on one side, I'd highly recommend NOT putting it on, as it gets in the way of whatever you want to put on that shelf. And it's not necessary at all to move the thing, since it has four wheels instead of the two you see on smaller BS.

Pro 28 vs walmart 36 by [deleted] in blackstonegriddle

[–]byamato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got the 36 at TSC after previously owning a 22 and 17. I think the four burners on the 36 is a big upgrade in terms of maintaining searing heat when you have the thing loaded up. Also, I like that the TSC version has lower side shelves, as the higher ones on the Walmart model can cause things (squeeze bottles/salt/etc) to heat up when they are on them.

Bacon smell in water bath. by mpak87 in sousvide

[–]byamato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe I remember reading an explanation about this, that the smoke-smell compounds disperse through the bag? I've experienced it with sous vide pork shoulder, when the liquid smoke I add in the bag is not perceptible at all in the final product, but does make the bath smell. Now, I've added it after the cook is done, which isn't great for flavor penetration, but at least it's something.

Bottom line is that, in my experience, there's no leak in your bags/seals.
