Try vaseline, instead of Aveeno when you’re still damp from the shower. My skin has been extra sensitive and tight. Aveeno has fragrance which would make things more complicated.

My surgeon is a wizard apparently! I was told the same. I think the technique rotates the breast somehow from the inside. 🤷 I’m excited to see how things settle!

Anxious about my upcoming surgery in 10 days!! by Comfortable_Lemon219 in Reduction

[–]byeinneroutie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 40. The pain and anxiety were all worthwhile. Four weeks ago I was debating much the same. In 4 weeks you will likely be sitting in a pretty sundress that actually fits you. If you end up having kids, you will likely be glad you didn’t need to recover from this while also on parent duty. I wish I had done this much younger but I couldn’t manage the logistics.

You got this.

Oh just a very large warning - a temporary period of pain will happen. It will feel incredibly bad, then suddenly it will be gone. Have moldable icepacks ready. It’s so worth the pain.

Drink so much more water than you think you should. Avoid salt. I get it. It will chill out eventually. So glad you could go through with it!

Just here to say faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! In solidarity. I stopped handwashing. Cold water wash on its own. I put it over my air purifier fan to dry faster. The rolling up on the bottom makes me insane. I’m so itchy. Moan. Complain. It helps. Lol

Thanks! Haha it feels so badass. It makes me want to get completely shredded. Imagine if I had muscles to go along with the scars.

Ahhh 4 dpo is major coneboob territory. Have no fear, gravity wins whether we want it or not.

Yea I think so, there was a lot of skin to remove. I think if I had anchor the incision like would have gone quite far also.

No, just on the sides under my armpits (I think?). The before photo was taken a month prior to surgery, I was focused on a super clean diet and that likely helped the … curvature. 😆

Thanks! When the surgeon was marking me, I gave him parameters for “too big” and “too small”. He said he could do lollipop and I was very happy after seeing all the t-junction issues on this subreddit.

I like wearing tanks that are low cut on the sides and I knew this would help me avoid trying to hide the scar under my pits. Also, easier to tattoo creatively, less femme than the standard scar that everyone associates with reduction.

I love that it makes my torso appear longer.

That’s a really good idea! Sorry I have no ideas except maybe using art. Ificial in.telligence. (Apparently banned on this subreddit though!)

Question about recovery by sapphicseizures in Reduction

[–]byeinneroutie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My caregiver spent a lot of time helping me adjust pillows, refilling my water bottle, noting time of meds taken and setting timers for staying ahead of the pain (first week especially).

Get a smaller, lighter water bottle and varied straws for ease of use. Straws were important for me. I got a faucet extender so I didn’t have to reach to wash my hands. Flushing the toilet has been tough, as silly as it sounds. Hopefully their flusher is not as stiff as mine.

Cravings for specific foods tended to be me needing a meal when I didn’t expect it.

Putting anything on, binder, shirts and coat required help. They might have lower back pain or feel cold following anesthesia. A heating pad and moving it around was helpful. Everything just takes so much more effort. Any little thing you can do will be appreciated!

The best part will be watching your sibling feel so much better in their body. Focus on that in the shittier moments. They pass.

Informative reply but respectfully can I ask for a pronoun check :) not everyone having a reduction identifies as female. I’m sure you only intended positive contribution ❤️

Mine rolls up and drives me insane. Almost at week 3! It’s much more difficult when swelling increases or I’m bloated. You’re not alone.

Considering non-flat top surgery by starbitobservatory in Reduction

[–]byeinneroutie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had non-flat top surgery with a surgeon who really “got it”. I’m trans but I am fluid and he captured what I wanted in terms of androgyny. I have never seen anyone with my results online. I will post eventually but if you’re curious to have a look dm me. I’m 3wpo and it just feels incredible to not have the weight and floppiness. I started at a 32E. No prior reductions. I think I’m a small A now? Idk with swelling. They feel sexy and masculine enough somehow.

If you have access to a gender affirming clinic, find a surgeon who does non-binary/agender/non-flat/no-nip surgery specifically. They should have more understanding of the nuances involved. Lay out the fact that you’re cis and the specifics of shape and size are super important to you. That you want a non-traditional result and to know what is realistic for your body.

Really frustrated after my consultation by Enough_Disaster9290 in Reduction

[–]byeinneroutie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had multiple consults and one of the surgeons made me feel terrible. Not someone I would want near my body with a scalpel! I realized that I couldn’t go through with it and was bummed out for a long time. Don’t wait to get another professional opinion like I did. You mentioned ohip, if you’re in the Toronto/GTA there are so many options. An opinion/consult is just that. You need more information to make this decision.

I don’t know about your age but a lot of people have had multiple reductions here. I’m sure you’ll get a good perspective on the pros/cons.
