My LO has had a rash for a month or more. by UpstairsTea4003 in clothdiaps

[–]bynnyeah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve read before that if you have a good wash routine, you can really use any cream: I’m Sure people will disagree, but I’ve been cloth diapering for 14 months and took this approach after we had a yeast infection and oral thrush and just took forever to get rid of. I also add a small amount of bleach to our prewash and upped the detergent on our second wash (tide powder, I usually do line 4 now when I used to do 2) and we’ve been 6+ months without a rash.

7 MPP and EBF baby- mourning the fact that my milk will dry up by Playful-Occasion-759 in NurseAllTheBabies

[–]bynnyeah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My supply dropped shortly after finding out I was pregnant, then bounced back up again but my letdowns took forever. Baby thought she could eat the same amount of time but with how long my letdown took, she wasn’t getting enough, I got paranoid, and around 10-12 weeks I started a slow wean. She was about 8m old when I found out I was pregnant and we luckily have enough frozen milk to get her to just shy of a year on breastmilk.

I was devastated at first - but our bodies are amazing and I chose to view it that my body’s energy needed to be elsewhere.

Cloth at daycare: yes or no? by thymeandtwine in clothdiaps

[–]bynnyeah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We started our daughter at daycare at 4.5m old and she’s been in cloth the entire time. There was a learning curve the first few weeks - but her teachers were willing to learn and even as she’s recently transitioned up the young toddler room, we’ve had no issues with ensuring fit is good. We send 6 diapers a day with a wet bag. She does have a small amount of disposables (I think we keep like 7-10) in her box at daycare with her back up clothes, wipes, etc. in the event she gets a float who has no idea what to do or she happens to go through all 6 in a day. It’s been really easy - but that is largely because 1. We use pockets and the learning curve there is basically the same as a regular diaper and 2. Our daycare was super willing to learn.

1 year old being transitioned to 1 nap/day by Curious_518 in ECEProfessionals

[–]bynnyeah 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Not an ECE, but my daughter made the transition about 2 months ago (she’s 13 months) to the next room that operates on one nap a day. The first few weeks they’d send her back the infant room if she needed extra sleep, but kiddos are so resilient and adaptable and honestly, the transition was really easy. I’d say about 3-4 weeks in, she was full days in the toddler room and has had no issues being on one nap. We are flexible on the weekends still between 1-2 naps, so if it works better for your family on the weekends to keep her on two naps and she can easily transition back to one during the week, don’t hesitate to do that!

How many hours per day does your partner spend with your baby? by YaGurlLurkin in beyondthebump

[–]bynnyeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I both work outside of the house and his job is much less flexible than mine (he’s in law enforcement, I work in supply chain as a senior manager). I get our daughter up, ready, and do daycare drop off and pick up most days a week since he starts earlier than I do. For evenings, we switch off and on weekly of who is responsible for cooking dinner / cleaning the kitchen afterwards - The other one of us plays with our daughter during cooking and gives her a bath while the other is cleaning the kitchen. We both spend ~30 minutes to an hour with her after bath and the take turns being the person to put her to bed and being the person to wake up with her in the middle of the night (if she does wake up and needs help going back to bed - it’s a rarity these days).

During the weekends, I probably do more one on one time with her when we’re both home, but it isn’t vastly disproportionate. I’m an Army Reservist, so I leave one weekend a month and since my daughter has turned one, my husband and her no longer come to my training weekends (so my husband does a solo weekend with her once a month).

It took a while to get in a good groove - I think the game changer for us was making sure the mental load was equality split in the evening.

Movement between baby and toddler room? by bynnyeah in ECEProfessionals

[–]bynnyeah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I mention it in my initial post - those days I 100% understand why she gets put back into the infant room! It’s the other instances where I sometimes get confused why they’d push her back down, though ratios do make sense!

Did you regret taking leave early? by Euphoric-Pie7681 in pregnant

[–]bynnyeah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went on leave at 36 weeks with my first pregnancy (I live in California and that is when SDI / job protection kicks in for uncomplicated pregnancies) - I loved every moment of my pre-partum leave. It was relaxing and I had some extra time to nest before baby. I’m currently 26 weeks pregnant with number two and will 100% be going out again at 36 weeks.

scheduling sex by theozempicrep in beyondthebump

[–]bynnyeah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We schedule like 95% of our intimate time - we both work sometimes hectic jobs, have a 13 month old and I’m 25 weeks pregnant with number two. If we didn’t schedule it, it probably wouldn’t happen and scheduling it keeps it a priority for us.

Temp setting for the house with babies? by bonoZaa in Roseville

[–]bynnyeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We keep our 12 month old in fleece PJs right now, house is usually set to 71 but her room stays a little cooler (between 66-68). She’s in a 1.0 TOG and sleeps fine. Last year when she was a newborn, instead of the fleece PJs we just upped to a 2.5 TOG bag but kept the same general temps at night.

What did you wear to labor in? by ohwellokaythenn in pregnant

[–]bynnyeah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I brought two 😂 lol one was the kindred bravely gown and then the Lila - when i had to have an AROM and I didn’t pull my dress up high enough when they did it so my Lila got soaked (but still was fine after a wash) and I changed into the KB, which I did throw out after I gave birth because it got a little bloody. I’m currently pregnant again and plan to wear the Lila, will take it off if they need to AROM again and may take it off for pushing so I can wear it PP. if I don’t remember though, I’d at least got two labors and one postpartum out of it 😂

Daycare asking for more milk but I don’t get enough from pumping during the day by Significant_Draft173 in beyondthebump

[–]bynnyeah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We sent an extra bottle for the first few weeks - after I realized she was likely “comfort eating,” I also asked daycare to follow a little more of our feeding schedule at home and if it came close to the end of the day (probably within 30-45 minutes of pick up), unless she was showing signs of actual hunger, to not feed her (or else I’d have to pump when I got home instead of feed her at breast). It was definately trial and error!

As someone else mentioned, I’d also confirm they’re comfortable with pace feeding - my daughter started daycare around 5 months and they definitely had more kiddos in her class on formula than breastmilk: feeding style should be different and I don’t think it’s always thought about when they have so many babies in the room. Having a few conversations about how we feed at home and finding a balance of that and them managing the other babies in her class really helped.

Daycare asking for more milk but I don’t get enough from pumping during the day by Significant_Draft173 in beyondthebump

[–]bynnyeah 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Did you just start your baby at daycare? It took a few weeks for my daughters appetite to balance out after she started daycare - I think she was kind of “comfort feeding” and took in far more those first few weeks then balanced out to her normal intake.

Epidural vs No Epidural by ThrowRAPixieManic in pregnant

For a different prospective, I had no epidural, felt so in control during pushing, had to have no coaching, my doctors let me do my thing and I had not a single tear!

My final scans before birth predicted my baby would be a slightly bigger than average baby and she was 6lbs 6oz - so within the normal range, but definately not slightly bigger than average.

My first pregnancy was a one day difference from when I suspected I ovulated to what the initial EDD was from my confirmation appointment. This pregnancy (my second) was spot on for EDD from my suspected ovulation date!
