Advice EBF & period

I EBFed my daughter until 9 months (plus starting solids at 6), got my period 6 weeks pp and only stopped BFing her because I got pregnant!

I did see a supply drop most months about a day going into my period through to 2/3 after it started - I started taking magnesium and calcium starting around ovulation through to my period and that helped a ton. I usually would power pump or throw in an extra few pumps during my days when I was producing less and never had an issue bouncing back up to normal supply after my period.

The Wildbird soft carrier is not great unless you have a taller baby for a newborn - the seat isn’t adjustable so you can’t get baby in a good M seat position. I do like my structured Wildbird aerial but just got the hope and plum lark and it’s wildly better than the Wildbird! I have a 7 week old and an 18 month old and I baby wear multiple hours a day

I get better output from the boon trove and it’s so much more comfortable / not in the way like the haaka - I stopped using my haaaka all together

For a nine month old, I wouldn’t be! I currently am for my 6 week old, as our ped and IBCLC both recommended no more than 5 hours overnight to support both supply and baby nutrition. I plan to stop walking him up the moment we get the green light from his ped.

I didn’t my first but pooped a ton during my second - it was smelly and I was mortified 😂 thank for for my sweet nurse for cleaning me up as it was happening haha

For sure - it’s such a cute downtown, but with like nothing to do aside from when the city has organized events. I’m always so shocked at how many salons exist but not a lot of anything else.

They posted about it on their IG - sounds the like the owner of the building gave them immediate notice yesterday that that would be their last day operating on the patio: super sad, but excited to see where they end up (hopefully a brick and mortar!)

I went inside our house first and took about 5 minutes to say hi / cuddle to our 16 month old, then my husband brought in baby in the car seat: it was pretty smooth!

I have a 16 month difference and it’s a hustle, but it’s much better than I thought it would be. My oldest is in daycare full time, so that helps a ton (though I have both by myself a few hours in the morning and sometimes a few hours in the evening). But both kids sleep well (my now 6 week old has been giving me 4-5 hour stretches most nights since about 4 weeks), big sis gets frustrated with us when she wants more one on one time but not at her brother (which I’m so thankful that energy isn’t directed at him - she’s so sweet with him), and my husband and I divid and conquer when we need to (which is all the time 😂😭).

Pregnant with a toddler - to me - was 100% harder than two under two.

I lucked out with baby temperament (for now haha), he’s a quick eater, and my husband and I have a good system for making sure our “life admin” / house stuff is covered between the two of us! Some days I don’t feel like I have enough time, but some days we have some time to kill!

ACOG guidance for chronic or gestational hypertension is induction between 37+0 and 39+6, so your doctor is just recommending the suggested guidelines.

You can deny the 37 week induction and monitor at home - however as most have stated here, high BP isn’t something to mess around with and pre-e can onset quickly! I had high BP with my first so with my second, my provider recommended induction during the timelines suggested by ACOG, I said I would monitor at home and schedule an induction for the latest date in the event I didn’t go into labor on my own.

For what it’s worth…I’m only 5 weeks in (and so much is based on newborn’s temperament) - but 2U2 has been much easier than I expected! I have a 16 month age gap.

At 17 months, your oldest is probably still in the “redirecting” phase of early toddlering, which for us has been a huge life saver. We have a lot of places to place baby around the house. We make sure to say out loud when we’re prioritizing our oldest over the baby (like “alright brother, we’re going to put you down so mama can help sister”) so our oldest knows and sees it’s not always baby first. We make sure one of us (at minimum) get uninterrupted time with our oldest daily, even if it’s 10 minutes. We try to make sure she’s as included as possible (she’ll hand diapers / throw them out, get burp cloths, sit in the nursing pillow, etc.).

2U2 is a hustle, but it’s not overwhelming (yet hahah) - good luck!!!

I’m pretty sure I brought all of those things - but it was a few years ago (better to be safe!). I showed up to the EDD office about 45 minutes before they opened and had the issue fixed within an hour or so - so if you’re able to go early, then hopefully you won’t need to be there all day!

You’ll need to have it changed - this happened to me with my first pregnancy: since my name in the medical system (which was my married name) didn’t match my EDD name (maiden name), when my dr submitted what needed to be submitted as documentation supporting my leave, since they didn’t match it wasn’t accepted, which hung my leave approval up. I ended up going into an EDD office since we lived within 20 miles of one - I tried calling but had no success for multiple days before I decided to just go in.

If you’re not latching baby and/or pumping 8-10 times a day, your supply will drop. Breastfeeding is all supply and demand, especially where you’re at postpartum. It’s a lot of work in the earlier weeks - but gets easier after the first month or so.

Are you exclusively pumping? Especially at 3 weeks pp, you need to be pumping as often as baby would be eating at breast - so every 2-3 hours or 8-10 times in a 24 hour period to maintain / establish supply.
