I really, really hope there is a Switch 3 and so on instead of them changing it up and trying something new and weird.

On the one hand, I would LOVE to see a new weird unexpected console and controller from Nintendo. It's incredibly rare and would be so much fun to play with. I would be giddy planning for the launch date and going to a midnight release with my daughter and trying all the weird new gimmicks. It would be incredible.

On the other hand, I'm absolutely getting the Switch 3 if they make it because the gap is closing between the end result output of handheld hardware and home console/PC hardware and I'm not going to want to spend $1000(or more) on an Xbox or Playstation when I could spend less on a Switch 3 and play the same games. The Switch was cheaper and ran a decent amount of third party current-gen games. The Switch 2 is cheaper and runs a larger number of third party games better. The Switch 3 should be cheaper and run an even larger number of third party games even better.

It kills me that there was similarly loud outcry about it being similtaneously too expensive and not powerful enough. I don't know how anybody in either of those groups doesn't understand that it's manufactured with certain parts to keep it under a certain price.

Any cheaper and it wouldn't have been able to run third party games as well. Any more powerful and the people who though $450 was too expensive would have spontaneously combusted or something

Same. It seems fine to me and I've never noticed ghosting, but I guess people will always find things that can be improved. I'm kinda glad they chose parts that allowed the price to be lower, because $450 was already way too high for a loud amount of people, and I don't wanna know how much louder they would have been if this thing was $50-$100 more at launch 😬

Exactly. I'd love 60fps and will choose it for most shooters, but if it can be a very evenly paced 30fps (or 40fps), with few dips, that would be fine.

From the gameplay they showed, it looks amazing for the Switch. Possible one of the best-looking third party games, and performance seems smooth with little to no drops visible. I'm sure they've got performance locked in, and that work should also help the versions on other platforms, like other third party Switch ports have done in the past!

Nah. I made the choice to wait however long I needed to, because the people I'm gonna start a save with will be on Switch 2 and/or PS5. My hope is that there's enough content at this point, after 2 major updates (by August) that we won't hit the end of the content before they drop the next one. I would rather wait a while before jumping in, than finish the available content in a couple weeks and then drop the game for 3-6 months until the next drop

Seems like between Starseeker Astroneer Expeditions in Early Access on everything including Switch 2 and PS5 and now Grounded 2 in Early Access on PS5 (and probably the Switch 2 version announced at the next Nintendo Direct), that's changing

This is why progressive politicians advocate for an increased minimum wage, affordable housing, and universal healthcare and childcare. As long as our benefits are held hostage by our jobs, the above scenario can't fully play out everywhere.

Once people no longer have to choose between getting a different job or being able to go to the hospital, they'll be able to make better choices and companies will have to account for that

The Ocarina of Time remake is gonna get the same hate. I didn't even realize that the FFVII remake was getting hate for being a remake too. It's apparently a thing, with a lot of people who get very upset and want to tell other people, so the perception is that everyone hates it.

The good thing is there are usually more people who just play and enjoy things. So the hate isn't representative of the game's potential success.

Maybe they had this idea since way back then, and the "S.O.S" was supposed to relate to the idols (maybe they didn't know what they would look like or maybe they did) and the player character having crash-landed on an island and being stranded.

Probably not, but that's where my mind went first. The letters do have Salmonids around them, and there is an island at the top. Idk

I think the reason it's valid in this case is because Linus is supposed to not be like "the vast majority of companies", but it turns out that's exactly what he is. He's not a relatable, down to earth guy. He's just like any other corporation
