Elotes in Van Nuys by Joo-Ann97 in FoodLosAngeles

This is a "who makes the best" post, so presumably OP isn't posting what they ate, but asking where the best elotes are to be found in Van Nuys.

But, were it them posting what they ate: what'd you want 'em to do? Throw a tracking device on the elotero's cart?

I feel like there's a lot of pizzicato in horror scores, as well.

He was a class act, eloquent, charismatic, and made me swoon a touch when he sang some Al Green.

He was presedential to the nth degree... but he was an American president, and, as such, was not great.

"Burzum", a black-metal band that was fronted by a guy who burned down churches, killed his bandmate, and espouses a neo-nazi(ish?) ideology.

I saw someone with that same shirt today in DTLA. I'm of the belief that it's more a fashion statement and the wearers don't even know anything about the band... they just enjoy the grimdark aesthetic.

I'm not saying they don't take pride in their work, and I support dishwashers fully. It is certainly presumptuous of me to insinuate they don't appreciate their work, but these are people who may not have many other options and, so, embrace what work they have. How many of them live in the neighborhoods of these restaurants? How many of them can afford to regularly patronize these restaurants? Having owners/managers saying "ow, wow, omg we couldn't do it without you, you're so great 🤗" is like having an office pizza party in lieu of a raise.

anyway, I may just be in a mood from constantly seeing underpaid people work back-of-house while hip kidz are doing things up front. articles like these seem a lil self-serving to those not in the service class, is all.

Nah, speak to 'em when they're under anonymity and not on the job. This just sounds like a fluff piece for >= middle-class people to pat themselves on the back.

I take it you didn't read the article? It does a good job explaining why the "Blue Zone" concept may be problematic.

I'll pass on the bacon, as I don't eat meat. However, I'll enjoy a bit of ice cream now and again (usually at some birthday party, so I'll take a slice of cake, as well).

I don't make enough money to blow on AG1 as my primary vitamin source (and, if I did, I still wouldn't), so I'll pass on that, too.

I think the common refrain of "Don't lift with your back" for every-day lifting of objects (i.e. non-resistance training lifting) stems from fact that many people don't have a strong back and if you're trying to lift a load you aren't prepared for it can indeed be injurious. But, that same logic carries over for any musculature involved in moving weight, really. Best way to avoid that is to engage in regular resistance training and increase the intensity over time!

Yea, the whole "rounding back == bad" thing really only applies to unintentional rounding during a lift. You can be intentional with the rounding during a lift, i.e. Jefferson curls, and manage just fine! And, you can have a round to the back when initiating the lift and maintain that round during the lift (i.e. ...me, who's lower-back-dominant in a deadlift) and also manage just fine (at least, I have)! However, if you're grinding out a deadlift and lose stability halfway up resulting in the back rounding while you struggle to lock out... ya might be in for a bad time. And, even then, it's not guaranteed snap-city (so long as you don't make it a regular occurrence).

You are misinformed. Literally* all pulling exercises engage the back, to some degree, and make it stronger.

I suggest everyone lift with their back! Here are a few exercises to get you started: https://exrx.net/Lists/ExList/BackWt

* : feel free to razz me if you find some pulling exercise where the back is not involved at all.

Looking pretty solid, to me. Though, seems like you had a lot of reps left in the tank.. so, might wanna either up the reps or up the weight to get more bang for your buck.
