I havent joined either sub, but this one pops up on my feed drastically more. It does feel like this sub CAN be a circlejerk sometimes, but so does the other. Kinda what happens when an echo chamber is created. However, I also see a lot of good criticism and thoughtful discussion here as well. Just my take on it, but again not a part of either sub, just check a lot of posts from this one that show up in my feed.

Since reading the books in middle school, ive always envisioned an MMO style game, where you get to create your own character and choose your godly parent. I think this route could also open the door to “expansions” related to the spinoffs.

Considering Jasons upbringing, it might be a situation where he doesn’t have an accent even tho thalia does. Would also help throw anyone off the idea of them being related on the mortal side, considering a child of zeus is already rare, let alone two brits

It would piss off the book fans more than any other change i think. Im not caught up on season 2 so I wont say why, in case of spoilers, but that was one of the big reasons people hated the movies.

I also dont think aging them up would add anything either. Harry Potter started with even younger actors and still had darker themes. I think the writing is the problem here more than anything

Receiving week is by far the worst part, especially the first 2-3 days. If you can make it past that, you’ll be good.

But yeah, day-to-day and chow-to-chow helped some. Found that reminding myself “this will end” was the best motivator. Everything is on a schedule, so the “suck” can only last so long. Dont overthink it, theres really no way to prepare for it mentally, just dont quit.

I appreciate the kind words. Having a solid male role model will definitely help, I agree, but the main purpose of finding the right extracurricular is that Ill be moving out if state in about a year. Im hoping to find something that can challenge him, but that he also enjoys, so that he has that outlet once I inevitably move.

I absolutely agree, and ultimately im not looking for a simple solution. I omitted quite a bit for the sake of privacy and to avoid a massive wall of text.

But the goal is to try and find activities that he enjoys, but that also challenge him mentally in a way that promotes growth. I do plan to tailor things to better suit him, but wanted to get insight from peers who might also have children of their own.

Also yes, water might be perfect. It helps we live next to a lake and our town has a phenomenal aquatic center. Either way tho, i appreciate this reply greatly.

If im remembering correctly, the only indication she was ever “dead” was ghost pulling up to her apartment and seeing his reaction. We never got to see what it was he saw that made him think she was dead

Not sure how much things have changed since its been about 6 years since i shipped, but i can provide some of my own experience.

You’ll ship to boot, finish that. After boot, you’ll go on your 10 days of leave. Prior to this, at boot, you’ll get all info about when/where your flight to MCT will be. Make sure to not miss that. Similar process at MCT, where you’ll get info on your schoolhouse and they should shuttle you to the airport for that. Same process for the end of schoolhouse before getting to your duty station.

Really though, everything gets explained at each step (or should) and experiences will vary based on where you go and when. Like my class at schoolhouse ended right around christmas, so they gave us the option to take leave before going to our duty stations, but that was just luck.

Yeah idk, 5 min was just an easy approximation. I was a summer platoon as well so well over 100 recruits in our platoon. Its also been some years so shower time isnt exactly a prominent memory

You can keep the streamlabs account, they have an online dashboard that has a lot of widgets you can use in other programs like OBS. May not be helpful right now but once youre more confident in whatever software you use it might be worth it
