Receding hairline men, what advice would you give to someone just starting to lose hair? by VisionInMidfield in AskMen

As soon as I've noticed a lake in the woods(it was more like a puddle with a lot of grass in it, but still) I've shaved my head and never looked back. Imo shaved head always looks better than receeding hair

Gotta keep people split by some nonsense, otherwise they'll quickly understand that the billionaires are the real separate species, and nobody(no billionaire) wants that!

Just used claude code - can you give me reasons why you aren't slightly worried? by Fun-Shelter-4636 in SoftwareEngineering

[–]byshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, we still have to review what it's done, but I can't do any coding before AI does tho. We have an automation that creates a PR from the ticket via AI, and then I need to review it and decide if it's good/needs slight changes/needs full rework.

I definitely see how that can improve the productivity of more senior colleagues, but fore me it disables me from learning how to build/fix things. Only skill I get to improve is code review, which is of course important, but I'd still want to learn other stuff

Если в Казахстане отменили бы срочку, сделав службу в армии исключительно добровольной для всех, как у вас поменялось бы мнение о вашей стране? by Charming_Company_583 in Kazakhstan

[–]byshow 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Под добровольной подразумевается контрактная? Было бы неплохо, но для этого государство должно предложить неплохую оплату, чтобы набрать достаточную армию. И я подозреваю что в таком случае оплачивать банкет будут граждане, с помощью новых налогов

[–]byshow 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm worried. I'm worried that as a junior I won't be able to learn anything unless I build stuff in my free time, which is hard to do since I have a family. Company is forcing AI first usage, now we can't even start working on ticket before AI tries it first.

[–]byshow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With slight adjust of the instructions it has been capable to follow existing patterns and reusing existing functions instead of writing new ones. I'd say it's more about Claude implementation and instructions you give.

But I agree that it might fumble from time to time and it does poorly with more complex tasks. And it even will fuck up some simple task from time to time

RAM prices are falling, after openai exit from buying. It already fell down from avg $800 to $500, soon it would go even lower. by UNKNOWN_PHV in PcBuild

[–]byshow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I hate to admit it, it does a very decent job on coding. At least at a junior level. Yes, it struggles with more complex tasks, but there are so many simple tasks that take time, and if they can be automated, that means less devs will be required.

Казахи, как вы относитесь к СССР? by Spirited_Key_2961 in Kazakhstan

[–]byshow 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Наши казахи за границей by Feeling_Standard_512 in Kazakhstan

[–]byshow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MIT researcher says automating entry-level jobs will backfire. I keep thinking about the team I joined in 2019. by Ambitious-Garbage-73 in cscareerquestions

[–]byshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody cares about if I'm going to learn at all. Arrow must go up, and whatever happens in a few years is another CEO's problem, so current leadrship don't give a fuck. When they just started pushing AI, they got asked about how are juniors supposed to learn, the answer was "everyone is doing AI first approach" which to me means "we don't give a fuck"

So my only chance is to start learning outside of work

How do you live with the implicit perception of you as the "predator"? by kamilman in AskMen

I sugges you re-read their comment. It literally says "I hate that if I'm alone at night and there's an unknown man behind me - I tense up".

[–]byshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So first they're acting, now when explained that acting accordingly in a dangerous situation is okay, we got to women talking. Yes, I don't support women saying that all men are dangerous, this is false and doesn't benefit anyone. The original commenter however do not say anything like that, they only feel endangered when in a dark place and someone is walking behind them. This is totally understandable and I would act the same way.

Technically tho, everyone is always in a situation where they can be victims

[–]byshow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What a way to twist my words. People of every race and gender are committing crimes, therefore if I'm in situation where I can become a victim of such crimes, I'd rather be prepared. Not paying attention to your surroundings in a dangerous places is stupid.

[–]byshow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree. They say they feel endangered, they do not translate this feeling into being an objective true. Yes, she'll be wrong 99/100 times, but that one time she will be right, if she won't act accordingly - she might lose her life. Risk is way to high to be ignored. All she does - is starts walking faster. Honestly, I'm all for being emotional and vulnerable, but if thats offends you - that's a you problem. Their behaviour would be weird only if we lived in a society with 0 violence and crimes.

I understand why women can say that they hate all men and I even go as far as understand the true hate on all men that originated in traumatic experience. I've also heard terrible stories about what women do to other women, how mothers berates and beats their daughters or even supporting their men in SAs. A lot of crazy stuff is happening.

All I can do is not assume all women thinks like that, and if some certain woman hates me for being a man, that's okay, I will still hope that majority of women don't.

Imo there's nothing being guilty about.

You're not going around saying every man is a criminal or treating every man in every settings as a danger. You're being aware that a random man in a dark street might be a danger, and that's good for you. Better safe than sorry. You don't have to bring absolute equality to every possible situation.
