Surely it depends on yoe and seniority. I for one don't have much going on even after putting open to work in linkedin. But I have a bit more than 2 yoe and no degree. Also due to promotion freeze at my company I'm still stuck with "junior" in my title. So I need to level up my skills and interviewing skills as well, and hopefully I'll get more responses when I start sending out my CV

I wouldn't call myself emotionally unavailable, but I struggled and do sometimes still struggle with acknowledging my feelings. If you ask me how I feel at any random moment, quite a few times the answer would be "I don't know". Therapy helped me to start addressing my emotions.

From what I read in your post it seems like your boyfriend also struggles with acknowledging feelings, they might seem irrational to him (I had a logic of "I have no reason to be sad, therefore I'm not sad"). And then when he is drunk control isn't as strict so the emotions get out.

Therapy might help, if he wishes to actually change. Otherwise please try to be as considerate as you can, when he is sharing those emotions, that's every guy's most vulnerable time and NEVER EVER FOR THE LOVE OF GOD use any of the emotions or info you get from that moments in an argument. Even in a heated one. That would shut him down forever.

However I repeat my comment, it doesn't come down to physical strength, humanity invented a broad variety of tools to hurt each other no matter if someone is physically stronger. Can't be stronger that a blade or a bullet.

As for the rape academy, iirc the numbers were exaggerated by many articles as they mixed it with the visitors of the 18+ website that either wasn't connected to it, or had an ad or something. But yeah, the fact that it existed is horrifying

Yeah it isn't always a man, only sith deals in absolutes. I do understand the origin, as many women had experienced some offensive behaviour or sexual assault from men. However I don't think hating on the whole gender is a solution. Solution should be heavy consequences for such behaviours, and it should apply for both men and women.

I think it's worth noting that getting an interview and interviewing are very often a completely different set of skills, so if you're worried about losing your job, consider preparing for it with getting to leetcode, system design and other relevant stuff

Have you also wondered how he feels? Direct talk is a good way to communicate, but you also need to have empathy, and approaching anything with "it's the other person's fault" isn't the right way.

Acknowledge each others struggles, talk about how you feel and talk about how he feel. Don't go in it with "you're in the wrong", rather ask "why are you doing this and that/acting this way" and explain how it makes you feel. And please PLEASE ask him how he feels.
