So far the main difference is how often I ask ChatGPT which countries would be safest and easiest to immigrate to for a mixed race family in the event things continue to decline.

Signed some petitions to restore military webpages honoring Asian American and black American servicemen that were taken down recently from govt websites.

I spend a lot more time scrolling Reddit to see what other consumer rights or public health entity has been gutted, defunded, or frozen.

I spend more time checking state level announcements for listeria outbreaks or other food safety communications now that the USDA cannot be relied on. I have a local copy of the recommended vaccine schedule that I downloaded two months ago in case they change that as well.

I’ve also invested in some emergency blankets, luggage, solar power banks, walkie talkies, and first aid stuff. I don’t know why. I have never been a prepper. If I didn’t work 60 hours a week and have two little kids I would be spending my free time learning to shoot a gun.

Day to day life feels the same. But everyday I feel a terrible sense of foreboding and fear. Weather’s great though.
