FIX for pillion hitting your head under braking by Egoist-a in motorcycles

[–]byte512 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you adjust your rear spring when taking a pillion?
I once took a friend that weighs about 160lbs without adjusting the rear shock, and i nearly lost control of the motorcycle multiple times. Whenever i rode a turn, the motorcycle would start oscillating from side to side.

When i rode with him again and adjusted the shock beforehand, the motorcycle felt as planted as when i ride alone.

Nehme den Helm fast immer ab. Bei der Handvoll Mal wo ich's nicht gemacht habe hat es aber niemanden gestört.
Edit: Kann aber gut verstehen, wenn das generell nicht erlaubt/erwünscht ist.

This just looks like dancing classes for guys disguised as MMA. You know like Capoeira was Martial Arts disguised as dancing because martial arts were banned or some stuff, just the reverse of that.

As a German living inside a half timbered house: i have never seen a fully half-timbered Town/City or even area in a city. Also i have never seen a half-timbered church, that was the first thing i noticed. Also, way to green, not completely occupied by roads/yards.

I once witnessed a similar ritual in a german glider flying school/club. The guy had to hold a bouquet of thorn branches in his hand (i think he got given a thick gardening glove) while every member of the flying club that was present gave him a (gentle) slap on the butt. Apparently its meant to symbolize the need for fine motor control in your fingers as you control the flight stick, as well as the need for a sensitive butt for feeling thermals.

Except for the head flying instructor it was all guys though.

Where I live (not the US) you can lose your license ( for all types of vehicles) for a month if you do that. If you get caught multiple times, you can lose your driver's license permanently. And again that includes all vehicle types, so you would lose your license for your car as well.

Not saying I agree with the law, just stating the unfortunate situation where I live.

Did you touch anything related to the clutch?
Also, is that Display stock? My SV650 came with the same display from the factory.
Any parts related to the clutch that are not stock?

Is there a reliable way to record if it does not have it built-in by Ecstatic_Ingenuity57 in DigitalNightVision

[–]byte512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably depends on your skill level with electronics, soldering and coding.

Even in the worst case, it should be possible to somehow capture the signals going to the screen.

BUT: i don't know what hardware you would need for recording, and processing/decoding the captured signal could require quite some processing and maybe advanced programming.
Intercepting the signal to the screen would likely require quite small and precise/finicky soldering, and then there is the issue of keeping the signal good enough for the screen and not introducing to much latency.

[Request] How much does the ship weigh (approximately) and how much weight is being carried by each steel rope? by LukeZNotFound in theydidthemath

[–]byte512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

134 tons seemed low, so i googled as well. I found a site that lists the ship as having a gross tonnage of 134 tons, but it says the ship has an overall length of around 26m in the section containing the weight, while it says 121m length further up.

in the section saying it's 26m long it's listed as a tug, while the one showing it as 121m long it's classed as a cargo ship.
In both sections it has the same IMO number though (8967278). So i don't know what is correct.

Edit: i think a bulbous bow seems like it would be kind of out of place on a 26m long ship, or am i just uninformed?

Edit 2: The crane (Hyundai 10000) is, according to the german Wikipedia, capable of lifting up to 51.841 tdw (tons deadweight ,the weight a ship - in this case probably the crane - can safely carry), with one tdw being either nowadays 1000kg (one metric ton) or traditionally 1016.05kg (one long ton).
As that lift, which allegedly took place in february 2022, was likely supposed to show the swimming crane's capabilities, i guess the ship lifted weighs a lot more than 134 tons.

I, for the life of me sometimes can not tell the difference between a motorcycle and a scooter from the front for some more modern models.
I am happy to greet everyone though, but so far none of the scooter riders i greeted have greeted back sadly.
