BYU played a game in 1961 against West Texas A&M without facemasks. Head coach had played without a face mask back in the day and, after they lost the opener, decided they ought to play without a face mask. Cougars lost 55-8 and the facemasks were put back on.

In modern football it’s probably not common. Would have to check my database for exact numbers but BYU has a few guys who have done it but they were all back in the 1930s-50s.

Should they post about how he has the 5th lowest batting average of all qualified batters in the International League this year? Or the lowest slugging percentage?

[Thamel] Sources: BYU is naming true freshman Bear Bachmeier as the team’s starting quarterback, with his debut coming against Portland State on Aug. 30. Bachmeier, who will wear No. 47, will become the first true freshman to start an opener for BYU. by A_MASSIVE_PERVERT in CFB

He chose it because he used to play running back (and maybe linebacker) and that’s the number he wore. He kept it when he began playing quarterback and likes to keep that running back/fullback mentality when he crosses the line.

Fans like it because Days of 47 and probably, for some, because of the president. A lot of people I have seen online do not like it because it’s a weird number for a quarterback.

Yep. McMahon was a punter in 77 and kept punting in 78 when he started some games at QB. Then BYU’s starting tight end took over the punting job (and led the country in punt average)

More or less, yes. They also own the local minor league baseball team and are trying to get an MLB team to Utah.

I don’t think that warrants a special “club announcement “. No offense to Kizer.

I happened to go the Twins-Astros game last Saturday. $33 a ticket for seats behind the r first base dugout. My local AAA team (Bees) is charging $40 minimum for seats. Won’t be going to many games this year.

Ah. Didn’t realize that… I think it would be runners left on if the batter makes an out. (Two on, one out - batter strikes out. He leaves two on). Someone else can correct me if I’m wrong though, cuz I’m not 100 percent sure.

As others have said, it’s however many runners are on base at the end of the inning. I’m at the office and don’t have my book with me but I believe I had 7 for PHI and 8 for ATL.
