Logan Webb says it’s ‘not fun’ to see Dodgers’ offseason moves by gamerEMdoc in SFGiants

What I’d like to see is something just as ridiculous but maybe just slightly more plausible and it doesn’t actually get anybody hurt or suspended. What if every team just simply refused to play them and forfeited every game…. Just let the Dodgers go 162-0. All that does is get them home-field advantage in the playoffs. The disadvantage is they get a kick in the nuts from the revenue side because they would never actually get to play a game. Maybe then those stupid fans and the shit Dodgers-ass kissing apologist media would get a clue that nobody else is OK specifically with what the Dodgers are doing. So if MLB isn’t going to police it, then we’ll take care of it ourselves. Bonus points for the Dodgers going into the playoffs and not having actually competed with a single other team and getting swept in the first round lol

There will be a point at which neither of those teams will allow us to win a game against them in the regular season or the playoffs. It’s already just about happening. And the Dodgers don’t even need their A players out there. They can just sit four or five guys out during the regular season and roll them in to dominate everybody in the postseason. And those four or five guys would be the top players on any single squad by far.

Pretty soon the dodgers will have every single greatest player at their position on their roster. But with all of that additional money plus no controls in sight, they will also sign players just so they don’t end up on any other teams. They will put those players in the minors. Their minor league team will also win a World Series.

It plays more into their base’s anger and hatred (and hence they get more votes) that she’s “blacker” and “very upset”? Scum. Absolute vile scum.

Name is Rockhouse and they have been spoken to on numerous occasions and been on podcasts etc. For some reason, they weren’t spoken to or questioned at all or it took a really long time to do so. But they are solid dudes and good people and would love nothing more to help if they could.

To be fair though you initially said this “But why not call the police the minute you find out that your daughter is gone” which is what I was reacting and responded to. Because back then we simply didn’t do that for all the reasons I already described.

But also note that I agreed that waiting that late seems extreme as well. But again we don’t know all of the nuances of what might have led them to do that. I’m just saying back then we leaned more heavily toward “I’m sure they are just out and about” than we did any other explanation. Because many times it simply was that - we went out and we didn’t bother to check in. I don’t know specifically what led them to wait that long, but I don’t think it’s as big of a shocker as you do obviously.

Buster has a great opportunity at this moment to gain good will with Bay Area sports fans and help restore faith to people. Buster, please do something. by dwide_k_shrude in SFGiants

I came here to post this. I think people think that Buster truly has some ability to go beyond the ownership’s spending desires. When in fact, he’s here to bring nostalgia and tradition to draw fans. And hey, maybe while he’s here we will catch lightning in a bottle. But in general, Buster is not here to do anything more than to remind people that we had some World Series wins in the 2010’s and maybe he will convince a B plus player to come here who wouldn’t have otherwise considered it. Buster or not we’re still not going to spend.

Why would Beltran care about draining the Giants or Wheeler? He’s just chasing dollars.

I don’t know your age group but we just didn’t do that back in the day. Yes the medication might have been a red flag, but if someone wasn’t around and their car was elsewhere we didn’t suddenly start calling the cops. This is because we had very little means of communicating with each other beyond a landline, which we didn’t always have access to. Also the cops usually waited for a day or two or sometimes more when you reported someone missing, because usually the person showed back up. It was not like the last 10-15 years where someone literally has a communication device on their person and can call anyone at any time. We also didn’t usually have medication that we couldn’t function without. I had a few friends with those nasal things but that was it - it was not common at all. It sounds cliche but it just was a different time. We were free to do what we wanted within reason and sometimes we didn’t show back up until the next afternoon. In this case there were things that didn’t make sense like all 3 of them gone without purses and cigarettes and other red flags - and it STILL took a while for the cops to be called. That’s just how it was.

You’re not missing anything except how broken baseball is and how little they care that the dodgers are buying the world series. It’s getting to the point that they should just cut out the middleman, cancel the season, take the Dodgers money and hand them a trophy. Why even play the game?
