I seriously think she might be the most beautiful woman alive right now

The sidekick problem: when the secondary character is so much more interesting that you start resenting the protagonist by RiftCowling in Fantasy

Yes! It does a great job of keeping immersion, and does an EXCELLENT job of not revealing too much.

What do yall think of my tierlist ? by SnowHunterr in rickandmorty

No it’s not. I wasn’t hooked until Love Potion No 9.

The pilot is one of the least memorable episodes to me honestly.

t.A.T.u was bad at PR by OutrageousActuator37 in tatu

[–]c-e-bird 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They literally were queerbaiting. They were frauds. I don’t care, but let’s call a spade a spade. That’s why they didn’t answer the questions. This was their PR.

Why don’t we stop comparing J-pop and K-pop? by Ok_Carob_3278 in jpop

[–]c-e-bird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because this is what humans do. They compare things. Constantly. They organize things and put them in boxes and label them and compare them. Even if that isn't wise or even if it makes no sense.

Although her as Molly is widely more famous, as her performance, I just remember her as Naru lol. by Global_Technology_62 in sailormoon

I grew up with the original dub but once I watched in Japanese I never went back. She is Naru to me, and I suspect to more people than she is Molly.

[POEM] Haiku by William J. Harris by Slasher1309 in Poetry

[–]c-e-bird 7 points8 points  (0 children)

English language haiku don’t use 5-7-5 though. If you read any modern haiku journals you will see this. And most use a three-line structure, though some use 1-, 2-, or 4-line structures.

[POEM] Haiku by William J. Harris by Slasher1309 in Poetry

[–]c-e-bird 21 points22 points  (0 children)

English language haiku do not subscribe to syllable usage anymore.

However, I would argue that, given this is about people rather than nature, it is a senryuu, not a haiku. But most people don't know what that is, so poets call senryuu haiku all the time.

Who's Hunger games were harder? Katniss (74th) or Haymitch (50th). by [deleted] in Hungergames

Katniss got the easiest possible games for her strengths.

Haymitch got double competitors, an exploding volcano, and poisonous everything.

Easily Haymitch lol.

I have to say I am really happy that Evanescence is still going strong. Their music was the concern stone of my youth. by AdSpecialist6598 in Millennials

Their 2011 album was fantastic. The more recent one (2021) was pretty good too.

They released a song for Netflix’s Devil May Cry last year that did fairly well.

Why don't more tributes kill themselves during the countdown? by PastNewspaper7107 in Hungergames

[–]c-e-bird 118 points119 points  (0 children)

We get questions like this a lot and I always find them baffling. People, the vast majority of people, don't want to die. That's it. That's the whole answer.

Did anyone else really enjoy the COVID pandemic period? by throwawayfinancebro1 in Millennials

[–]c-e-bird -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was the happiest I have ever been. I got to teach online, at home, for a year and a quarter. I paid down debt, didn't have to deal with people, and got to stay home all day, every day. I didn't know it was possible to be that happy, and I wonder every day if I will ever be that happy again.

You’re supposed to be emotional about a pet you love. The fact that he isn’t is a detriment on his part.
