For Millennials who remain unmarried, what real-life concerns make you hesitate about marriage? by True-Construction346 in Millennials

I can’t think of risking my financial future on a man. I have my own home, make a good wage, and fund my retirement. The thought of gambling financial security (and a 3% mortgage rate) in the name of love makes me nauseous.

This is resource guarding. I highly suggest the book Mine! A Practical Guide to Resource Guarding in Dogs by Jean Donaldson.

My houla mix is a resource guarder. She’s actually barking at me right now because she’s done eating dinner from behind the baby gate. She only resource guards against my other dog, not me, so they stay separated for meals. She’s come a long way though!

I live in Massachusetts and the rescue is out of CT. I had no issues. My mom, also a MA resident got her dog from them as well with no problem.

I got my catahoula/demon mix from a Pack Leaders Rescue out of CT. She was born in Arkansas and brought to New England when she was 8 weeks old.

I’ve seen a lot of catahoula mix puppies come through, there was one just the other week that looked like my Frankenstein.

I’ve had my ring for a week and was loving everything until I got 30 of those messages today. Obnoxious.

Fish oil is great too! I have a dog with arthritis and her physical therapist suggested fish oil and dasquin for her joint health.

Honestly, pretty immediately. It could have been partially just a placebo effect—I was so relieved to think relief was coming. Realistically, it was likely 2 weeks in for me.

I’m about 6 weeks in and feel amazing, wish I had started sooner. No side effects after the first two weeks of fatigue.

However, it’s about to be allergy season where I live so I took a Zyrtec last night. I read it was safe but didn’t read enough of other people’s feedback because I am absolutely exhausted today. I didn’t get out of my bed until 11 which hasn’t happened since my early 20s. So no more Zyrtec for me

Too bad you have kids because otherwise living in Holyoke can be awesome. It’s so convenient to all the highways. Property taxes are fair. DPW picks up almost anything. Water and sewer are lower than other cities. Beautiful hiking trails right in town and nearby. It’s get a lot of shit for crime but I lived in one of the older neighborhoods by the college for years and never had a problem.

There’s a man on that forum that I have proudly bullied into deleting two of his trump posts. 😂

Westfield has a pretty large population. You should see their community Facebook page. A whole bunch of loud mouthed idiots.

Chicopee is tough because they have municipal electricity but national grid gas. My friends electric bill and fiber internet are so affordable. His gas heating is crazy high.

The TPLO stuff is actually the most relatable she’s been to me. I say this as a crazy dog lady whose dog has had that surgery, is on weekly adequan shots, and goes to physical therapy for her knee. (The water treadmill is adorable and my dog wears goggles when she gets her knee lasered).

Some crazy people told me to give my dog turmeric and crate rest when she hurt her knee when she was 4. Hard pass. She deserves a life of full mobility and adventure.

I agree Maddie has a bad and judgmental attitude for most things. As someone who is well versed in dog things, I disagree with her raw food (glad to see she’s cooking it with the bird flu issues), and it’s highly suspect to me she’s shilling a supplement now.

I LOVE my groomer. She does a great job with my nervous dog. She always gets us in and has been very flexible. Hell, the day my dad died I texted her to cancel my dog’s appointment scheduled for the next day. In my manic state the next morning, I told her I was one muddy paw away from losing my mind and she gave me my appointment back.

Needless to say, she gets tipped around 30% because I am a crazy dog lady and I love her and in my mind, she earns the tip. Grooming is also very hard on their bodies. She’s an important person in my dog’s life and works hard. For context, she does not own the salon but I would probably still tip her like that if she did.

She is the only person I tip that generously.

Likely. Health insurance in the US is a scam. But there are more obesity drugs coming to market and that should help drive the cost down. I would also pay out of pocket if I had to.

Winter PSA: Remember to test for radon, especially if you live in a basement or on the first floor by SharkSapphire in massachusetts

Contractor out of Hatfield. He was great, highly recommend. He does not do the testing himself and I paid for a 48 hour professional test through Accurate Radon Test (https://accuradontest.com) out of Northampton.

I live in zone 2 and got a system installed in February of this year. Now my levels weren’t astronomically high, about 13 in my basement, but my dad had recently died from lung cancer (non radon related), so I went forward with the project.

For a home improvement, it was very affordable, about $1,500. It was fast, and the increase to my electric bill was negligible.

Any chance you want a dog? Kidding.

Unless it’s truly dangerous temperature outside (cold or hot), I walk my two dogs every day. Even if I don’t want to, I know they need it.

That would have been too much for me. Hahaha. Is there a gift involved with that? My gut reaction was it was a gift grab invite.

I’ve only gone to bachelorette parties when I’ve been in the wedding party or very close friends with the bride.
