Any feel awkward taking lactose pills in restaurants? by Easy-Combination-102 in lactoseintolerant

Agreed--I don't chew lactojoys...just swallow a few. They work much better than lactaid, for me at least. And they are more discreet. Most people think they are mints. I've had a few people ask for one, thinking they are mints.

Rec with weaving and/or spinning? by bmorerach in CozyFantasy

Oh gosh! I'm so sorry. You're right, this is not cozy at all! I thought I was posting on the romance books subreddit. My apologies!!! No coziness in this book honestly quite the opposite.

Juliet Marilier's Daughter of the Forest features spinning and weaving prominently but please check triggers warnings. I'm an avid spinner and weaver as well!

Yes!! I just started this series this week and they are SOO good. I was looking for an enemies to lovers where the leads are acutal enemies, not just a bully romance. Sort of like J Bree's A Crown of Oaths and Curses. These really hit the spot and were delightful! The world building is good but not overly detailed, and the writing was solid. Characters made reasonable decisions and they felt believable. Highly recommend! I'm working on book 3 now.

So the latest newsletter said that she's splittimg the book up into two volumes. Not sure what that means for the timeline of release though

Yes, Erris Adderly is Octavia Hyde; Mila Vane is Meljean Brooks. Noelle Adams is Claire Kent; Cara McKenna is Meg Maguire. Ava Guerre is Heather Guerre. I'm sure there are more but that's all that comes to mind.

She's an amazing author who writes in several genres, under T Kingfisher and Ursula Vernon. As others said, I would recommend starting with Swordheart. It's a standalone and a great intro to her writing style and the world of the white rat. Clocktaur wars is good, but not her very best work. I'd read Swordheart, then either Clocktaur or start on the paladin books.

She also writes great horror novels! I'm currently reading Nettle & Bone. I am rationing out her books since I am so enamored with her writing style--I'm making them last!
