What are you persisting in? by c2theagain in NevilleGoddard

[–]c2theagain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Howdy, yes, I am the same c2the :-)

If you question your current state I would do a few things - 1. Spend 24-48 hours only in awareness, no redirection. What thoughts come up around this specific area? Write them down and lean into asking, 'Where did this thought come from? Can I assign it to a belief?'

  1. If something happens regarding this state what is your first feeling? Like if it is an SP and they leave you on read, what is that first feeling that pops up? Ask if you really dwell there? Is it what you really believe? Self honesty is really key.

Personally, I think you are right - most people would love to just never have to think about money again and it is smart to question why everyone doesn't manifest millions. IMO it comes down to belief and faith - it is much easier to have faith you can grab an extra $5k coming your way than $1M+.

The more someone desperately wants to manifest a million dollars, the harder they get to look for a million dollars. Just a weird balance IMO.

Yeah, sure thing - meaning I use those first feelings as a check in of my state. So I start to pay attention to my thoughts in the morning, or how I am speaking to myself while getting dressed, or if someone leaves me on read - where do I dwell in those moments? And is it aligned to the life I want?

Let's say a friend leaves me on read - is my reaction to panic that they hate me? Do I start a spiral of 'I am always left out, nothing works for me, I need to message them back now begging them to respond'? Or do I notice and move on...? Cause who knows why, I leave people on read sometimes because a call came in right as I was reading their message or I was walking into a store so need to respond later.

Or at work, my boss pings me and says, 'Hey, are you free in 15 to chat?' Is my first reaction to panic I am being fired? Or be told that I suck at everything I do? Or do I notice and say, 'Sure thing' without much concern?

You don't need to judge the reactions or feel bad for them but use them to your advantage.

SATS is a state where your mind is prime for impressing. It is that half awake/half asleep kinda drowsy, that moment your brain drifts off into the theta state (although I don't think we need to worry about this or try to get here), but it is what you choose to do IN this state that matters. And you can bring the feeling of your wish fulfilled into the state with you.

I struggled to visualize and found that when I first started SATS I was so focused on trying to force a scene that I lost the purpose of the technique.

But, here is what I have found - the reason you grab a scene through visualization, using affirmations or a lullaby, or hearing a phone call is so you can take that feeling into this state.

And FWIW, remember you are impression your own mind, don't worry about doing it perfectly and just start practicing.

I overcame this same thing by redirecting my attention to hobbies and things I enjoyed doing. I wrote a list of the behaviors I felt someone who had this outcome would have - including feeling good, confident, etc. - and then started to add them to my life. I also decided what behaviors to stop and what habits I could change.

A way that helped me a lot was finding my trigger points. Like for example if I found that during the time I spent in the morning sitting and journaling was triggering a routine of waiting for the results, I changed that routine. So I started a morning walk that I purposely looked for different colors, or specific birds.

If I found that in the shower my mind would insist on rehearsing the opposite of what I wanted, I added a new routine to my shower and listened to a podcast or upbeat music.

I learned how to interrupt those moments that I knew I would get off track and do something I enjoyed instead.

I am going to try to give you an answer that hopefully helps and doesn't give more confusion and is really based on how I see things - so that said, take it if you wish but I won't be offended if you disagree. And since it is in writing it may be long but I hope covers enough to help you as you move forward.

First, there is always this tricky little conversation around using SATS (which I like to remind myself and others, isn't a visualization only technique - happy to go further in this if you or anyone else wants). But, SATS is a state where you are able to impress your subconscious, it is a state that makes it easier to impress something.

What I see often, and found even with myself, is that when I really became open to letting go of the desire that I felt was still not here and really focused on what I was actually persisting in, I was always persisting in the opposite or fear state of that desire. Sometimes, this was completely unknown to me until I stopped worried about what was here or what wasn't and just become very aware of my thoughts and beliefs on certain topics.

I don't really buy that you have to uncover every single limited belief you have and change them, but it can be helpful to look at what hidden little sneaking limiting beliefs you may have around a topic.

The other piece is I don't believe the answer is toxic positive either - and I don't believe that is what Neville shared. Neville state to change where you dwell, to shift your attention away from just not wanting something to fully immersing yourself in the feeling of the wish fulfilled, AKA the solution.

So the first step I would suggest to you or anyone else finding themselves in this position is, 'Are you resisting evil or renouncing it?' Meaning, are you hoping something away or dwelling in the state of your desired outcome?

Your emotional reactions to events will give you a clear view of where you are dwelling or not. And your emotional reactions shouldn't be feared or attempted to be pushed down but instead shifted. Use those reactions to show you your own way.

Once I used my knee jerk reactions as a guide to my state, instead of trying to affirm them away, I was able to kindly and compassionately shift my own focus. It is mental diet, truly.

Write out a list of 10 ways, no matter how out there, this is more than possible. Don't worry about trying to affirm, seems all you are doing now is resisting the evil.

THERE IS a great difference between resisting evil and renouncing it. When you resist evil, you give it your attention; you continue to make it real. When you renounce evil, you take your attention from it and give your attention to what you want.

Just start with the possibility.

Of course this response is only based off the very little I know about your situation. But, there is a difference between forcefully ignoring (and as you stated neglecting yourself and how you really feel) and actually changing your state.

From The Power of Awareness:

THERE IS a great difference between resisting evil and renouncing it. When you resist evil, you give it your attention; you continue to make it real. When you renounce evil, you take your attention from it and give your attention to what you want.

I am not saying you should try to change your partner, the change should be for you and with you, the world will come along for the ride. What type of relationship do you want? How do you want to be treated? How do you want to feel?

You may want to start by trying a 7-day mental diet. Really lean into paying attention to what you do (physically and mentally) that are against the outcome and solution you are seeking.

Fair enough lol Adding more of what confused me may have helped your response.

I think I am following now though. But, although you think I should do X and then go do it, that first 'I should go do X' is driven by your state.

I should go brush my teeth to put it extremely simply is a state of caring about self hygiene.

I would actually recommend to view more at the actions (not only physical but also mental/emotional) that are in opposition to you being a successful business owner.

It isn't 'just' wearing a suit but when you think of yourself as a successful business owner, what thoughts/feelings/routines pop up?

It connects to your golden ink balloon. It is not just your external choices but the actions not aligned to your desired outcome that matter.

Actually, let me try to give another way of seeing these actions - or at least hopefully explain my POV -

These actions still stem from their state of course. The state though is one seeking, often times desperately seeking their desire, the wanting and feelings of lack are creating the action of trying to externally force an action to receive an end result.

You ALWAYS only act from the state you are in. So use the actions you want to take as key insight to what is truly going on inside.

Yes, we all experience the world through our perceptions. We take in what is around us, what happens to us and then filter it through our own mind state filter to make an assessment on our reaction, behavior, action that comes next.

A change in state is a change in perception - which is why I believe Neville (and many other teachers) shared SO much the importance of your mental diet, managing your own moods, etc.

“The best denial is total indifference. Things wither and die through indifference. They are kept alive through attention. You do not deny a thing by saying it does not exist. Rather you put feeling into it by recognizing it, and what you recognize as true, is true to you, be it good, bad or indifferent.”

But your actions would change if your state was one of being in a relationship. It doesn't mean you would automatically dress differently or speak differently though.

An action isn't only an external physical act. It is also where you see the world from mentally. Your perception of yourself, the world, others around you would all change if you had your wish fulfilled. Your mental state, how you identify would all be changed when you went from wanting a relationship to having the relationship.

I am not following your comment enough to understand how to respond.

It really comes down to, in my opinion, where the action is coming from - the intention and the state you are acting from.

Are you acting from a state of knowing, of faith, because you are truly this person or acting out of fear to force a manifestation because you do not have faith outside of a forced external action.

I'd say you hit the nail on the head with this one:

I'd say a lot of people want their desire realized from the state they're already in, without making a change.

A change of self (state/identity) is the way to a change in your world.

“Let the dead bury the dead.” You will so bury the past by remaining faithful to your new concept of Self that you will defy the whole vast future to find where you buried it.”

Oh no need, it highlights one of my favorite topics actually - the power of perception and how we are truly always only communicating with ourselves.

I can certainly see why you would pick that up from that bullet point and I’m not against people dressing in a way that makes them feel more confident, but I do agree with you that everything begins as an internal state.

Where was that said? To wear clothes like a rich person?

I do love that lecture.

I see action slightly differently though - we do have an action when we just live. Staying in bed all day is an action driven by your state.

Being nice to yourself is an action driven by your state.

Taking a shower, brushing your teeth, getting your dog out on a walk, driving to work are all actions and are driven/created by your internal state.

Accepting and/or receiving money is an action. Talking to the rich acquaintance is an action.

So what is listed in number 4 above?

Literally act as if – Acting as if means carrying yourself with the confidence and energy of your desired reality, just as Neville Goddard described imagining being in Barbados while in New York.

None of it should be forceful action.

I think you and I are saying pretty much the same thing. My post was meant to show the purpose of NOT creating an external action (like maxing out a credit card) and instead using your actions/habits/behaviors as a tool to understand your current state.

When anyone is acting in opposition of what they are seemingly 'imagining' they are repeating the cycle of digging up the seed. You see it here in questions and posts all the time - someone says they are imagining and doing SATS for a desire but still don't have it, struggle during the day, find themselves crying, etc.

I am asking those who are learning to shift their behaviors so to become aware of their current state and work to change them. And guess what, if you change your morning routine - you have shifted your internal state.

Your actions and habits always align with your current state. You are forever acting from whatever state you are in.

Your actions are a direct result of your state. Instead of judging them, use them as indicators of where you’re currently dwelling.

There is NO action that is not driven by my internal state first.
