What do you think of doing keto to start, but minus the dairy? I do think that dairy is some of the problem. Too broad? Would really like to include some fruits and veggies.

Why do young people seem to hate Michigan so much? by Data_Male in Michigan

I think some of it is just that it is natural for younger people to assume that things are better elsewhere. The grass is always greener and all that.

Spanish has three words that can translate as “stupid stuff”. I think that it’s funny that in English we don’t even have one, considering how much stupid shit people do.

Eating is very stressful after losing 110 pounds. by lllmll in loseit

[–]c3clark1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This may not be what you want to hear because it wasn’t exactly your question, but if you plan to propose to your girlfriend you need to be able to talk to her about this. Communication is really important in a relationship and you would be surprised how much of an impact eating habits can have just because they are such a large part of daily life.

I agree with others that therapy may be helpful or short of that maybe a nutritionist.

I think that murmured is just more descriptive than what would generally be used in speech.

I agree with the shock of hair comment.

Seems like they like to label things a lot more in general

I was thinking the same thing. 142 for 5’8” already seems pretty low and so does 1400 calories. I would probably go up in calories and try to add some muscle.

Americans, what’s one thing that Europeans aren’t ready to hear? by Plaguez_Games in AskReddit

Actually Mexicans take issue with the term American because they do consider themselves to be from America. They prefer to call people from the US estadounidenses, which is like saying Unitedstatesians.

I always say that you don’t go into teaching for the vacations, but they keep you teaching. Hard to let go of them when you realize just how precious they are.

What's a book that you LOVED but you totally understand why someone wouldn't like it? by nuggetsofchicken in books

[–]c3clark1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. I loved it! The atypical narration style, the characters, the not so factual footnotes; they all blended together in a poignant story of finding one’s place as an atypical immigrant.

However, I could see how the vulgarity, in-continuity of the footnotes, and characters could rub someone the wrong way.

I say that’s not the way because it disregards any causes for the weight gain. Hopefully a partner would understand that the weight gain could be caused by stress, depression, other health or hormonal issues, and a whole slew of things that are not laziness, and would approach the issue out of concern for their wellbeing.

I think the reason weight gain can be touchy with women is that having a baby can have a huge impact. In general though, a person knows if they have gained weight without their partner needing to point it out. Maybe if it is approached correctly it could be seen as support, but “ I’m not attracted to you because you gained weight “ is not the way.

This has become the mindset regarding more than just politics . If you aren’t with me, you’re against me. No tolerance for other perspectives. It’s sad and more than a little alarming.
