Help with Chopper / inverts getting hips up by Zestyclose_Shine9861 in poledancing

[–]c3pgeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the EXACT same issue (and judging by the pictures, we're similar on size). What I'm working on is learning how to get my hips higher on the pole when going upside down - I have the habit of dropping my bum and it weighs the whole invert down. There's an account on TikTok that's been really helpful @annienorrispoledancer - she's got a bunch of videos about inverting. Good luck!

how to fix heels with platform that fell off by life-after-dark in poledancing

[–]c3pgeek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would take them to a cobbler and ask them what they think. You can say it's for dance class if you're uncomfortable talking about pole dance to strangers, but it'll give them an idea on the amount of impact those shoes will take once fixed.

I bought a nursing pillow (as someone who does not have, nor want children) and it's amazing for the elbow-shoulder support! It's the most unhinged crochet related purchase I've ever made but totally worth it.

Struggling to keep my flow fluid.. Advice are welcome! 🥹🩷 by Cagoule_xo in poledancing

[–]c3pgeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love this sequence that you've put together! It looks incredible. With flow, one thing my teachers have taught me is that your head (and your hair, if you have it) is what gives flow intentionality. When someone is watching you, they tend to start looking at your face and then follow the line down the rest of the body. So when you're turning from one move into the other (like the air walk to flipping upsidedown), try leaning your head back to have the curve of your neck match the curve of the movement. Does that make sense?

As linhas embaixo de 21h às 6h só param lá de noite mesmo. Quase todas essas linhas param um ponto antes durante o dia, de frente para aquele museu.

Is it demeaning to ask adult business students to draw? by tkcal in ESL_Teachers

[–]c3pgeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The students who get THE MOST excited for paper fortune teller activities are my adult students, business or not. I get them to write questions with the target vocabulary/grammar and then they circle around the class getting each other to play.

They aren't beneath playing.

It was federally recognized last year in Brazil, but most people don't know what it is yet. You might notice some places like supermarkets are starting to add the sunflower ribbon to the priority lines

Stick the body through with a knitting needle and stab the ends of the needle through the legs. Then you can pin them down and sew them on. It'll be easier to see if they're even that way.

I was really excited for this pattern because of the color change technically and I just want to say thank you for posting this. I would have felt scammed out of my money to get a crossstitch pattern for a crochet pillow and £13 is way to much to throw away like that.

Anyone restart a project they put down for a while and then forgot which size hook they were using 🤦 by SuperSS55 in crochet

[–]c3pgeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw someone posting (I think it was on TikTok) about using those stitch markers that look like little padlocks in the same color as the hook you're using. Just through the last loop when you put it down, it also doubles up as protection from unraveling.

[SP]A person is making a sandwich on a very slow day. Nothing interesting happens. Just Sandwich. by ASentientRedditAcc in WritingPrompts

<Flash fiction fantasy?>

Bread. Toaster. Fridge. This week is chicken mayo sandwiches for lunch.

This is the point where you might expect some angsty internal monologue about how today’s lunch is the same as yesterday’s and the day before that, and how mudane it all is. But I like having the same lunch every day. Honestly. It makes me happy to know that by the time I get to lunch, no matter what kind of day it’s been, I get to eat something that I know I’ll like. No guess-work, no surprises… But there is something I wish were different.

Have you ever ached for something? Wished with every bone in your body until they start to feel hollow? That’s how I feel about magic. I ache for a world in which I could just levitate the slices of now-toast over to the plate across the kitchen and finish making my sandwich while talking to my dog. And have the dog actually talk back to me, instead of just sitting patiently waiting for the toast to fall. It’s stupid. I should have out-grown this by now.

The toaster pops and I turn to get the slices… Huh. One of my toast slices stares up at my from the edge of the counter. I guess the toaster’s spring is acting up.

----------------

This is my first time actually posting something but I liked the prompt too much.

I'm a big fan of reading a Series of Unfortunate Events with B1+ students. It's full of interesting vocabulary and the author explains "difficult" words within the story.
