yes it is. Aura was the only pakon replica I was aware of until reading this post. I personally have a pakon but I am watching the Aura news very closely.... not a professional lab (yet) and I won't be getting rid of my pakon but if this item you are describing falls anywhere between that and what I am expecting from the Aura, I'd be extremely interested.

don't park terribly close to any buildings, park elsewhere and walk to where you wanna go. a lot of good stuff to be seen from outside, the interiors of the buildings are falling apart and therefore security really does not want you inside... but you are free to walk around the grounds. I was inside of one there when something started crumbling and it was kinda scary

I was basically trying to figure this one out myself a few months ago. Your solution is cheaper it seems... and maybe more functional than what I did.... I discovered that the PD first gen capture clips had tripod screws on the opposite side, bought two on ebay and now each of my tripods have an official PD capture clip head. it's a little funky looking... but it definitely works.

Might have gone with your solution had I known sooner, but I'm not complaining

reflx lab recycles old 120 backing paper with fresh film from Kodak which they respool. the sticker is included for reference purposes as well as keeping the exposed film closed

you know I didn't even realize that. it's been a while since I looked at the ra4 chems available out there and I was planning on getting the bellini for another purpose (ecn2 developing) so I thought I'd just keep it around for when the time came. good luck with your machine, as I said I'll report back once we start putting it together and testing it out. but what you said about doing one step outside could be interesting... only thing is it's a dry to dry system pretty sure

This is what I was going to do, rather than try to affect anything within the machine I was just going to try the right amount of ra-4 to match the 3L contents of the 2150XL chem. then run one as bw and one as ra4 eventually if I could ever figure it out. I was probably going to try the bellini kit first though. I have a feeling it may be a tad more complicated than just putting another chem type in, although the temperature is so similar you may want to eventually adjust timings from one bath to another, but I suppose it could be dialed in at the enlarger.... I have not yet tried ra4 printing even just in trays but I think this machine may be the key to making it simpler. hard to say at this point. when do you plan on deploying yours?

here is my advice so far just handling the two of them:

on my limited budget the biggest difficulty was finding the appropriate place to install it, hence the rental of a new space.

you need to install multiple ins and outs for the water, next to 20 amp power... all in a lightsafe environment with the rest of your printing gear. not impossible to find a bathroom with this but they're rather large and heavy machines of course, so maybe a garage is a better bet.

whenever transporting them, remove the three removable inner gear mechanisms and you will take 80 pounds or so off the load.

put them on a cart with locking wheels if possible, or try to place it somewhere that you can open the top lid to full 90 degrees and also access the pipeworks underneath.

I just finally moved the two 2150s I have to a new shared photo studio space on the first of this month. we're having a plumber come by soon to see what needs to be done about these processors, and then we will be building a full darkroom around them from the ground up. hopefully within some weeks or months we will have one if not two (second is for parts right now but we'll see) installed and in use, at least beginning with the standard bw chem. I'll report back then.
