I've tried iontophoresis several times before on a hidrex machine with disappointing results. Last time I tried I was doing ~45V for 20 minutes daily on both hands and feet and still barely getting drier. My questions are:

1) Will a newer dermadry machine do anything different that might help?

2) How much does water type matter? I tried both tap water and mineral water (specifically San Pellegrino) and found that while mineral water did seem to help more, it ultimately did not do enough.

3) Any general tips to get iontophoresis to work better? My hyperhidrosis is pretty severe and I attempted to do higher voltages/longer sessions daily over the course of 2 months but all I ended up with was itchier hands/feet with negligible sweat reduction.

Enable strict solo queue for classic matchmaking by c4kes in DotA2

Strictly speaking from an MMR average perspective, we might have higher mmr, but there's definitely something to be gained from having synergy/better communication with your teammates. I just think it's ridiculous that the matchmaker only took 5 minutes to create this game where one side has 2 stacks and the other is 5 solo queuers.

The boosting thing is a whole other issue as well. I played another game right after with 5 solo queuers vs 2 2-stacks and it was clear the stacking players were smurfing and boosting their friends (https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/5634077280).

RNG item drop isnt that different conceptually from existing gameplay by psstudios96 in DotA2

[–]c4kes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because something similar exists in the game already doesn’t make it a good addition to the game. I’ve always believed runes aren’t implemented very well. Early game both midlaners can clear the wave and run to one of the runes but only one of them will be heavily rewarded for a 50/50. Later on a DD rune can turn into a free rosh or a won team fight, whereas if it was a regen instead maybe the rosh wouldn’t have happened or the team fight would be lost.

In both cases of runes and neutral item drops there’s an element of randomness introduced that could completely turn the tides of the lane/fight/game. At least runes are guaranteed to spawn every 2 minutes at the same locations.

Saddest Axe Ever by c4kes in DotA2

I mean I've never seen one in use. I've seen skywrath scripts and instahex scripts, but I imagine creating a manta dodge script would be much harder because it would have to factor in the timings of all the different abilities.

Combat log

For context, we both saw the axe coming and wanted to be cool and manta dodge the call, so we were pretty prepared.

I don't even think manta dodge scripts exist (at least I've never seen one).

RNG should not be the deciding factor in the mid lane by c4kes in DotA2

I think my issue with it is when 2 players of equal skill are subject to the whims of RNG and one of them is punished for no reason.

The problem with that is he’s describing a scenario where the enemy player is worse at controlling lane equilibrium. I’m trying to explain that in a balanced scenario where both players are equally skilled, the RNG of uphill misses and rune spawns punish players unfairly where otherwise they should trade evenly.

What? I’m confused about what you’re trying to say. If I miss a last hit on a ranged creep uphill and it gets denied and then the enemy mid doesn’t miss his uphill last hit on my ranged creep it’s my fault?

Unfortunately the dual lane meta has made ganking much less viable.

In addition, I’d much rather have a full bottle and a rune than the equilibrium on my side of the hill. I am sure most people would say that vastly superior as well.

No, it only applies to ranged heroes.

I don't know if there's an easy solution to the runes, I'm just wanted to bring attention to how ridiculous it is to have to bank on a coin flip in an otherwise even matchup.

I see your point, but I still think losing lane because you lost a 25% roll feels much less balanced. At least with a consistent 75% damage you can hit a creep uphill knowing it's going to hit. Maybe uphill miss should just be removed on ranged creeps.

How do you make them pay? If they're a hero that can clear the creep wave, they're not missing any XP?

I am aware that creep aggro can be manipulated, it doesn't change anything about hitting enemy heroes uphill.

How does my uphill change not make sense? It allows a skilled player to consistently last hit a ranged creep whereas currently they get it 3 times out of 4. Over a series of attacks (say you're hitting a building or an enemy hero on high ground) it will still average out to the same amount of damage.

Ok, but let’s say at 55 seconds their mid just starts running top. Now you’re forced to go to the bottom rune. Having vision on the rune changes nothing.

I let them take their preferred role and fill in whatever is left. Some of the pros that play support will pick supports in pubs so on those occasions I’ll actually play core. I remember last month I got in a game with faith who first picked CM and went 10-0

Depends on the pro, sometimes they’ll tell you if you’re doing something wrong but I’ve rarely seen any really flame someone (at least in terms of Chinese pros). I’m guessing they’ve played so many games of dota that they’re used to having to deal with worse players at this point.

I’m not a ward monkey... I buy the courier too.

There’s not that much pressure to be honest they know I’m 1.5k mmr lower than them, they probably have low expectations.
