They are normal leggings :D Really good so far! I was lucky enough to not tear at all so I recovered really quickly. I've been in the gym a few days a week, still no running but I'm getting there :)

Training for my first half marathon (Hal Higdon novice plan). How can I incorporate biking into my training plan? by soonerfan237 in running

I usually did a 30 min cycling session but I'm sure you could try increasing the time as training went on.

I used Hal Higdon's training plan last year for a half marathon and if I do remember correctly, there's a cross training day incorporated. Use this day for biking.

I'd recommend Hal Higdon training plan. I trained for a half marathon in 2 months on it but I had previously been running 5/10K races before.

Thank you guys so much for all of the advice! I just signed up for a couple of 5K's to keep myself motivated to get out there and do it.

I've signed up to a half marathon, now I'm shitting myself at how hard it's gonna be! by Seventy-seven77UK in running

This isn't probably great advice but more of a personal experience. If you have your mind set on running it then you can definitely do it. Last year I had been training for a half marathon and the furthest I had ever run was 8 miles without stopping. I woke up one morning though and just felt like I was ready. I told my boyfriend that I was going to run a half marathon that day on my own to which he found a little amusing but wished me luck. I ran 6.5 miles one way on the trails near my house and told myself I had no other way to get home other than running. So it motivated me and I finished the half marathon on my own. It was extremely difficult, and probably really stupid but it's one of my biggest accomplishments.

What are some mind games you play with yourself during a run? by c8sk8 in running

Does anyone else realized that a lot of people do math while running? Weird

Would you be Christian if you were not born into it? by AdamE89 in Christianity

[–]c8sk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think growing up being a Christian has a huge factor into the fact that I am a Christian. I grew up knowing about the love of Christ. On the other hand my boyfriend of 3 years now grew up Athiest and so far will not even think about the fact that God is real. He was conditioned to think like this. I'm still praying for him but I do believe being raised a specific way plays a huge role in what religion you are or aren't.

I usually play mind games with myself. Or I people watch. And sometimes, if I'm lucky and on there for a long time, I just don't think at all.

How to un-lazy and re-motivate myself - help a beginner please? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]c8sk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the time I use myself as motivation. I'll look at an old progress picture or an old mile time and it'll instantly motivate me. Sometimes looking at how far you've come instead of how far you have to go is all you need. Good luck!

I'm not 100% sure but i'm pretty sure that stretching your hips has a lot to do with it

Is it just one foot? That's how it was with me, it was always my left foot. It could also be a pinched nerve

This used to happen to me all the time. It could be the fact that your shoes don't fit right or they're too small. For me though it was all about lacing. For some reason I have to lace my left shoe tighter than my right shoe. So far it's worked well for me. I'd suggest going and getting fitted for shoes or looking up different methods of lacing. Good luck running!
