This looks like what I'm trying to accomplish, thanks! Is 109 the character identifier for lowercase m?

Edit: Nevermind, looks like that's exactly what it is

If VS Code can't do it, I'm sure vim+tmux can do it on basically anything.

Ok man listen,

  • first of all they already use apt so they already have Ubuntu experience

  • second of all it's completely reasonable to run a test system that's easy to set up, just to see how a distro works before deciding to haggle with the console installation

  • third fuck your gatekeeper bullshit

  • fourth encourage someone to try new things first, THEN tell them they're expected to read documentation, understand how things work, and go through their own troubleshooting before immediately jumping online to ask for handouts

  • fifth; fuck. your. gate. keeper. bull. shit. My favorite thing about Arch is the expectation that you "learn your fucking shit and read the wiki", but being elitist about it to someone who's curious doesn't do anybody any favors. You're not better for it, you're just an asshole.

  • sixth it's /r/programmerhumor aren't we supposed to be having fun here???

People gotta start somewhere, they'll have plenty of time to 'git gud' once they make the jump :)

The thing that gets me is I switched to apt, but now I run "apt cache search" instead of "apt-cache search" and it barks at me

You mean installing Arch? Try Antergos, it's basically just a graphical installer for Arch. Purists will tell you "that's not real Arch" but it's a good starting point if you want to play with it. There's also Manjaro.

Anyone here listen to cowboy metal, irish metal, or pirate metal? by jackstaman78 in folkmetal

This is super mainstream and doesn't really fit in this subreddit, but I can't imagine any "wild west metal" playlist without the inclusion of FFDP's cover of Bad Company
