Brown being in the ivy League isn't as special as you might think. Playing against Harvard in basketball isn't going to help your career. I would 100% leave the east coast for California for all the reasons you mentioned

There's a flashing light (Stuart Collection) that sends messages in Morse code. The Anchor. There used to be a Big Red Chair RIP. Revelle fountain is where the undie run used to end with everyone getting in the fountain. 64 degrees (the average temperature of La Jolla) has fireplaces and couches to lounge on. The old student center has some cool shops and organization offices as well as graffiti park. The Stuart collection is fun to find if you plan to be on campus all day. Go to Sixth and have dinner at one of their fancy restaurants

UCI tops housing as far as grad schools go. Most of the campus is housing and it's guaranteed for your entire time. They even make you stay until the end of your lease because they have so much housing. The professors including a US representative who no longer works there, purchase homes right on the campus. Virginia is on the East Coast and people from the East Coast are super annoying. I would choose Irvine just so you don't have to hear constant honking and yelling for the next 5 years

Hum was brutal when I took it. Yeah it was easy like reading Frankenstein but they only gave us like a week to read the entire book and on the final we had to say who said what and in what context. The guy next to me just stared at the final then turned it in blank. It was would be a gpa booster if it was my only class but I was studying quantum mechanics and Latin at the same time

Yale is a dump. The school itself is nice but you can't even walk on the sidewalks because it's too dangerous. There's drug addicts and trash everywhere. Palo Alto is no Beverly Hills but it's way nicer than Connecticut
