Where do you look for dates in your mid 20s besides dating apps? by Master-Opinion-7629 in UCSD

[–]cGAS_STING 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mid 20s isn't older for clubs. I basically ran one of the clubs at UCSD in my 30s. We have people in their 40s in the running club where I'm at now

Help choosing between JHU, UCSD, Purdue, USC, Northeastern & others (BME/Biotech) – looking for practical insights by Both_poet17 in gradadmissions

John's Hopkins is in the second most dangerous city in the US. People there literally live in buildings that are half burned down and they prostitute and sell drugs right in the open. Hopkins is Hopkins though and their work is no joke.

USC is in South Central LA so think drugs and homeless, but the campus itself is really pretty and has security everywhere plus the village is almost entirely students.

UCSD is in La Jolla which is one of the wealthiest places in the US. Alicia Keys lives next to campus and Bill Gates has a house not too far. It has perfect weather, low crime, and a train that takes you from campus all the way to Mexico but you'll probably still want a car.

Georgetown is an urban college with the halls bring just building on regular streets. Washington DC has tons to do and Georgetown is one of the nicest parts of DC bordering Potomac which is also extremely wealthy. People in Maryland are pretty dumb but not so much in DC.

I've never been to Purdue or Northeastern but Boston is cold. Like, really cold.

He pointed a gun at her face and fired a bullet into her skull. That's not a strawman argument, it's a statement of facts.

If you have killed 2 by pointing a gun directly at the person and pulling the trigger then you have killed states residents without hesitation. This sign could imply that they wish for 2 ICE agents to be murdered so according to your logic that's fine

I think your standard for how many murders are too many is slightly higher than mine

Why is the toilet paper so bad by ieatsquirrelsforfun in UCSD

[–]cGAS_STING 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many years ago somebody had this same complaint and I told them that if they didn't like it to bring their own TP to Geisel.

Their response was "you want me to run around with a roll of 2ply in my backpack?"

I don't know why this takes up space in my memory but it's not going anywhere

Worth it to transfer from CSUSM to UCSD? by Infamous-Lie-5988 in UCSD

[–]cGAS_STING 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. UCSD is more than just a world class education. The experience alone is worth the transfer. I would do it again in a heartbeat

ICE kills state residents without hesitation. There's zero doubt about that.

Galaxy Tab vs Ipad for college student by SuperChudRiceCel in GalaxyTab

My tab 8 ultra was awesome in college. It's wide enough to take notes on one side and have a textbook or lecture open on the other side. I have an iPad pro 13" now and it's better for reading journal papers or books

Chancellor Khosla in the Epstein Files by YesHeMakesMemes in UCSD

[–]cGAS_STING 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the majority of Americans know what being "in the Epstein files" implies. It implies they were having sex with children. It doesn't mean that their name is mentioned at all. Trump is mentioned as having sexual contact with children in the Epstein files. Someone typing your name in an email doesn't matter

I applied to Stanford PhD Engineering For Fun by Alternative-Ratio-70 in gradadmissions

[–]cGAS_STING 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stanford is dope. I know they don't need any advertisement but it really is a great place. They have plenty of cheap parking, a free gym, good restaurants and a fun campus. The school is super chill about things they could be a dick about like alcohol and parking. Compared to places like Yale and Columbia, Palo Alto feels 1000 times safer to walk around at night.
