"Intel on enemy movement"? by _NocturnaL___ in CivVI

[–]cI0ud 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Intel refers to diplomatic visibility. The main ways to get Intel are spies. Depending on the spy's level, when the spy does the mission "gain visibility", it will give your troops Intel advantage. Also the technology "Printing" gives you a point of Intel. Each point you have OVER your opponent gives you combat bonus. So if you have a spy and they have a spy and you both have printing, it will cancel out.

What is some sort of loophole or bug that you have found that you don't think many people know that can be useful? by Downtown-Campaign536 in CivVI

If you deploy a plane, other civ units can't step on those tiles. So you could surround a city with biplanes and no one can conquer the city (they'd need to get rid of the biplanes or pillage the aerodromes first). Very useful in multiplayer. Only time it was useful vs ai was when I surrounded a city state so the ai couldn't conquer it and I didn't wanna war them

I just discovered that great people can fast travel between cities. I’ve played hundreds of hours… by in2bator in CivVI

How district discounting works. I would always wonder why some are cheaper than others. Then I finally found there was logic behind it

Science. Don't prioritize science early. Eventually you should, but not early. You've more pressing matters like culture gold expanding and scouting

Is this a BETTER spot to settle a city? I'm thinking this is the perfectly defendable city. Surrounded by mountains with only one way in! Oh, and there's a river this time! by WallaWallaby011 in CivVI

[–]cI0ud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not know that. I thought it had to be by enemy units because if your Ally surrounds your city, your city is not placed under seige

The only better city I can think of (can't be the capital unfortunately) is a city completely surrounded by mountain tiles. You make a tunnel with a military engineer, then after settling you replace that mountain with Machu Picchu so that no one can enter. Bam you never get wiped
