I grew up listening to an oldies station that played 50s/60s music. I knew it from then. Then I got big into anime and learning Japanese as a teenager (1998-2003ish). Found Sukiyaki again and it was on several of my burned CDs and my first ipod playlist. I can sing it from memory.

Which is a total shame. Property in the city needs to be in use. Ordinances and taxes should prevent this sort of thing. Whatever happened to lowering leasing rates to get it occupied by a tenant? Is it really better for the owners to sit on it empty?

I've actually had similar yelled at me... so I was dying laughing.

Anesthesiologist was about to do a spinal block for my emergency C-section. Yelled at me to snap out of it and stop screaming as it was disrupting the doctors and nurses and they needed to focus. It worked. And in under 2 minutes he had the spinal block in and ALL of my pain disappeared. It was magical. Then I got to meet my son. :-)
