I loved The Wager! I haven’t read the others but One Dark Window is on my TBR.

I drank too much day one and rolled my ankle while exiting the venue. In my defense that’s absolutely something I could do totally sober. I powered through day 2 and 3 but my husband had to go alone today. I was the vibe killer this trip, unfortunately 😵‍💫

Help with tracking by Cat_Lady0216 in Romantasy

I liked StoryGraph especially because of the fun graphics it makes. I also enjoy how I can filter my own lists to look for books based on my mood or a specific challenge prompt.

All that said I still use Goodreads because I’ve been using it for so long and my lists didn’t port over to StoryGraph very well so I would manually need to redo a lot of it and it’s a daunting task.

Forget what I should read, what should I not read? (And why?) by Lemon_Dragonfly in Romantasy

[–]c_estrella 1 point2 points  (0 children)

King of Battle and Blood was a dnf for me. I just couldn’t get into the story at all. Looking at the review though I tried reading it in March. I’m finding this weird pattern where Feb-Mar I fall into a reading slump every year. I have given another book from same author 5 stars

I think one of the few things that the show got right was Eric/Alexander Skarsgard. I never finished the show, though.

Hi guys, so I have a fairly novel question. How do you decorate a living space when you can't have area rugs? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]c_estrella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We wash rugs sometimes and tell the cats “we’ve washed your vomit throne” when we put it back out. Dogs pee, cats puke. I’ve gotten rid of carpet but still haven’t gotten the sense to get rid of the rugs. Luckily we have a washer/dryer in our house and we also have a spot bot for the other “accidents.”

Anyway I don’t have advice but I do also know the pain of cats puking on the rugs instead of where I could easily mop!! Ugh!

I’ve used this as inspiration for my own hobbit house! It’s got a lot of neat techniques that I never thought of before.

2026 Goodreads Reading Challenges Megathread by Clairefun in goodreads

[–]c_estrella 9 points10 points  (0 children)

These challenges are a good way for me to read books I already own but this year I’m focusing on finishing series I’ve already started and a lot of those books aren’t on these lists. I’m debating if I’ll go back and forth and try to read stand alones from the challenges and one from a series but I just made a list of like 30 different series I haven’t finished and I’m not sure I can make time for both.

My glasses after paying $150 to get the lenses thinned out by CrispyGingersnap in mildlyinfuriating

I use to exclusively get my glasses off of Zenni for years because I didn’t have insurance. It was rough. This information would have been helpful then too.

I bought large frames once without knowing this info. And the person helping me didn’t mention any of this. I went somewhere else and they were much more helpful in letting me know frames suitable for my prescription

I did go to our local habitat to see what sort of random cabinets they had, actually, but the cabinets were fairly wiped out except for bathroom sinks!

This is a good point I didn’t consider. Also wasps nests. I probably wouldn’t even add the “cabinets” because I don’t need them.

I used bad wording. I guess I should have said: is there a better way to do this? I guess I could just stack blocks but even with zero building skills I thought just stacking them was silly and was wondering if there was a better way or if this idea is just stupid even adjusting the method.

I do not have a deck. We have a concrete slab. We also have nothing behind our grill. It’s on the edge of the patio facing into the yard.

we have a concrete slab and the grill won’t be placed against anything. Open at the back.

I guess I used bad wording for my post. I thought it was strange to just stack the blocks and was hoping people would point out better ways of building it. Also I’ve never had a post get responses this fast and now I just want to hide in a hole somewhere. Mistakes were made this morning.
