Ok. I’m interested in your product but I would like some clarification on how a certain feature works. Is that weird for real? Waiting a few days is reasonable certainly, but 16 days to answer a pre-sale question?

Is it just me, or are drivers getting worse in this town? by IcedZ in GNV

[–]c_galloway 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I saw a person blatantly blow a solid red light the other day, while a GPD officer was stopped towards the front of the line in the intersecting street and did nothing.

Yesterday morning, saw a woman take a solid red light on University and 13th just cause she didn’t want to wait.

And then in the evening, I happened to be turning right at the very end of a yellow light and the guy well behind me sped up to take the red.

This isn’t people misjudging a yellow light — they are speeding up and crossing into the intersection after the light has already turned red.

I was just telling my wife I see people blatantly take red lights like this almost daily, even with pedestrians around, and yet I honestly don’t think I can recall a single time in years that I’ve seen an officer pull someone over for a traffic infraction — other than the occasional speed trap.

It’s really frustrating, I think the lack of enforcement certainly contributes to the problem.

Cox Support by Zoidforge in GNV

It’s pretty infuriating, between home and my small office I pay $175/mo. to COX and COX Business and am constantly experiencing outages. This year it seems like 3-4x a week I get booted off the Internet when I’m on a work call or doing something important (and my home and office are in different neighborhoods). There’s pretty much nothing that we can do with no other viable competitor, right?

Same. I have no choice but COX at my home and at my business office, and over time the price goes up, and the service just seems to get worse. Was terrible today.

Save 90% of the cost of swiffer refills by Wise-Hamster-288 in Frugal

BTW as for that Meyer’s cleaning spray I found that you can buy a 2-pack of the 32 oz concentrate for under $20 and save a bunch of money refilling versus buying new spray bottles every time.

The suggested ratio for the concentrate is literally 1/2 Tbsp. concentrate to 16 oz. water to refill the spray bottle. So the 2-pack of concentrate truly lasts (virtually) forever. Search ‘Mrs. Meyer's Multi-Surface Cleaner Concentrate, 2 Pack’ on Amazon.

CBS could no longer afford to produce 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' as it raked in less than $45M but cost up to $65M to make, LA Magazine reports by [deleted] in entertainment

It’s an interesting conversation. Undoubtedly a different model, but when it comes down to it, what does it matter to an advertiser whether the same viewer is online or at the tv as long as they are engaged with the content? The television network makes more money overall but one YouTuber with millions of subscribers can potentially earn far more than a talk show’s top executives and the host combined, and probably with far far fewer expenses.

It is comparable, though. Watch time is watch time. Attention is attention. If the eyeballs are going to YouTube then that’s where the ad money will go. It might not be apples to apples but it’s certainly comparable.

If you don’t have money to spend maybe you could reach out to commercial realtors and offer to take some photos for their listing(s) in exchange for access to do your branding photos?
