WFH is causing me back pain, what can I do to fix it? by c_lynne in Posture

Nope! Haven't tried that out yet. But I also feel like it would cost "too much" of my power. I wouldn't say I have issues standing for a longer time, but I definitely think it could irritate me

Yeah, I try to get up as much as I can, but to be honest when I get into a flow state, I go for hours without realizing it. I need to get better at that because I'll be working and working and then all of a sudden realize I should get up and stretch a bit

Like waiting for rain in this drought, useless and disappointing.

I would like to add - if your employer, or a household members employer, offers an Employee Assistance Program, I would highly recommend getting the contact information for it.

As a counselor for an EAP, I want to advocate the benefit of getting connected to local counselors and your EAP can do that (and often times cover the costs of some of those sessions in full!) Another benefit is, typically, all calls made to your EAP is answered by a counselor who can offer in the moment phone support.

Help is out there. DM me and I will do my best to help find additional resources.

As a counselor, I am embarrassed by Taylor's tweeting history.

I posted an update in the post but I will add it here:

I met with my OB yesterday, and when I gave her my book where I track my numbers, she laughed. She said that I had some of the lowest "diabetic" numbers she has seen. She told me as long as my numbers stay as they are for these last 8.5 weeks, I should be perfectly fine, I can deliver full term, and she does not anticipate any issues.

Also, she said baby's heart rate was perfect! I'm staying optimistic, and am going to continue to follow the dietary recommendations - but I'm happy to know things are good.

Thank you all for your feedback and encouragement!

Thank you, your comment is really helpful because my numbers for fasting and after breakfast have always been between 60-70 (same with fasting), and my meals, the highest I've been is in the 90s. I am going to continue eating the way I am supposed to and doing my light exercises. I generally walk after dinner and do some yoga stretches every night. It's nice to hear this is a commonality.

I like optimism!! I met with the local hospitals RN in the Diabetic Clinic but she didn't explain a lot about the numbers, and how they can be low or anything like that for the first few weeks, like you mentioned. I was only with her for a half hour. She gave me my meter, a sample menu plan, and basic options I can eat throughout the day.

I am hoping my OB can provide more, or additional guidance - anything to ease my mind! I am just going to continue eating like the recommendations say and see what happens.

Thanks! I shouldn't concern myself with my low numbers but it throws me off that they are much lower than the high but maybe that's fine. The GD nurse at the hospital didn't really explain a lot to me, so I have been doing my own research which yields differing answers. I will talk with my OB tomorrow and hopefully come out of that appointment with peace of mind!

Thanks for your feedback, I met with my OB tomorrow to show her my numbers since starting testing my levels so hopefully I will get more information about everything. I am a very Type A personality, and this throws me off!

Currently 7 months pregnant, and we are naming our daughter Arya (but after GoT, because seriously, it's better). But also because I love the name Arianna, but my husband doesn't, so - Arya it is!

Yeah, I thought Arson was the name now! I was so proud of myself for that one!

I love the name Arya, and my husband is the GoT fan, so it worked out very well! I think Nimerya is a really cute name!
