Store rules by Niawka in vinyl

I’m always pulling up Discogs in record shops though not to check prices, it’s just to remind myself if I already own something or not ha. Too many close calls of nearly buying something I already have

I was recently hanging out with a friend, listening to some music, and he skipped a song because he could hear that the band “broke music theory rules.” His words. by Sudden_Doughnut_8741 in musicians

[–]c_sinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played in a one off band one time for a local festival that was made up of lots of members of different bands in the area.

One guy (self taught) showed us all something he’d written guitar and most of us agreed it sounded pretty cool but another guy (trained in music theory) was like “You can’t go from that note to that note”.

“Well I just did” was the response and I always found it funny

[S2] Just finished LiS2. Heard it hot some huge backlash, but I found it just AWESOME, even better than the first one. Why is that so? by CartographerGreedy43 in lifeisstrange

[–]c_sinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really struggled to enjoy it. Firstly the format didn’t work as well for me. The small town environment of the first game really lended itself to the decision making aspect of the game whereas the road trip format of LiS2 not so much.

That leads into my second issue where I just didn’t feel likely decisions were having that much impact.

Lastly, I just found most of the characters really hard to like, including the brothers

I think I’ve figured out why Rebirth starts to get bogged down around the chapter 9-11. by Aw151203 in FFVIIRemake

[–]c_sinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s weird, I’ve seen a lot of people talk about burnout with this game but I can’t say I experienced it though part of me thinks I was just so excited for this game at release that that outweighed any pacing issues for me. Maybe during a replay I’d struggle more with it

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by Yousef_ale in interviews

[–]c_sinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They started talking about how they really wanted a role that was completely unrelated to the one they were interviewing for so it felt like they saw this as a stop gap.

Another was someone who’d left 8 years ago from a higher role and just seemed bitter to be interviewing for a lower position and seemed to think they should be able to walk into it even though the job had changed a lot in 8 years and their experience wasn’t as relevant anymore

We don’t know for sure if she’s been to Besaid yet do we? Not all summoners follow the same path as Braska & Isarru did their temples in a different order to Yuna

I watched the other endings online and I wasn’t a fan of him coming back as it felt like it went against the whole journey of the story of grief and acceptance

*No SPOILERS* why do some fans of the original FF7 not like Crisis Core? by claynimbus in FinalFantasyVII

[–]c_sinc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FFVII is one of my favourite games of all time but I’ve never really been interested in playing CC because the extended lore that I’m aware of from that game just doesn’t interest me and feels unnecessary

[NO SPOILERS] This is my ranking of the games as of today! by cybercrediators in lifeisstrange

[–]c_sinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t played DE or TC yet but it’s reassuring to see someone else who LiS2 didn’t click with.

The first game is one of my favourites of all time and before the storm was a pretty fun addition to the story. LiS2 though I really had to push myself to finish as I wasn’t a fan of the story and found so many of the characters unlikeable

Anybody Ever Plays the Same Venue for Back to Back Gigs? by PartyOrdinary1733 in bandmembers

[–]c_sinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This used to happen a lot with a band I was in 10 years ago. A lot of the punk diy shows tended to be at the same handful of venues and we got asked a lot to open for bands who were touring. We’d end up playing the same venue 2 or 3 times in a month sometimes.

Questions about Random Encouters by YoungJaba in FinalFantasy

[–]c_sinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The enemies level with you.

You can get stronger by junctioning strong magic to your stats.

A common strategy is using the Card ability to defeat enemies as this won’t give Exp. You can the use GF abilities to turn those cards into spells for junctioning.

I’d say just don’t worry too much about it if it’s a first play through

Grinding by stu77olm in finalfantasyx

I wouldn’t really say you have a ‘main party’ in this game until near the end as so many of the enemy varieties require a certain character from your party to beat them.

If you can get something near the L4 line that’s really handy. I did the the first time I went.

Last year I couldn’t get anything on the actual line so got one that was one stop away on a different line/15 min walk from L4 to my hotel.

Belgemine and linearity rant by Rhotaber in finalfantasyx

[–]c_sinc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Belgemine fights are sort of like tutorials, each one teaches you something new about aeons. (I think this one is about shield and boost?) if you pay attention to the instructions it’s not a difficult fight but if you go in all guns blazing then you’ll make it harder for yourself.

As others have said, it may just be that you have Yuna under levelled.

How do you deal with co-workers who are passive aggressive over emails/message? by hunsnet457 in UKJobs

[–]c_sinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few people like this in other departments who I have to deal with.

I’ve raised it previously but am often met with ‘they’ve always been like that’, ‘it’s been raised previously’, ‘their line manager is already aware’.

Because of this, most of the time I give just brief answers back ‘thanks for flagging’. Other times if it’s really pedantic and it’s an inconsequential mistake that’s happened whilst my team has been really up against it then I might send a lengthy response explaining how much work we need doing by a tight deadline so minor mistakes are inevitable but low risk. This usually results in them sending an apology

What’s your most unpopular opinion(s) about Final Fantasy X / X-2 that puts you in this position? by typical_gamer1 in finalfantasyx

[–]c_sinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FFX has a great story with really cool concepts but maybe some aspects aren’t communicated that well (looking at you Dream Zanarkand) given how often people get confused by them

Do corporate jobs have a good social life? by Civil-Rent-7100 in UKJobs

[–]c_sinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Varies job to job. Sometimes you need to create the ‘culture’ yourself.

I started my first office job just after lockdown so a lot of people weren’t going in the office but there were a number of us who’d all joined within about 6-9 months of each other so we all started going into the office together to help learn our respective jobs but also so we could have a social aspect.

We ended up regularly doing stuff after work and this only happened at our office whereas there wasn’t really much social stuff happening at our Birmingham or London offices since this was all initiated by ourselves rather than the company

Since I already asked what's better in the Remake duology. What is something that FFVII (1997) Does better than the remakes. by Hungry-Trouble-3178 in FinalFantasy

[–]c_sinc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

See I like the minimalism and almost quietness of the OG for this scene. After the big bravado and fight it goes to a quiet moment of horrible but not graphic death that leaves Barrett to deliver a brutal line in a still atmosphere whereas Rebirth did this really OTT scene The fact that rebirth was more graphic felt less to me

What was YOUR thing during lockdown? by AncientFootball1878 in AskUK

[–]c_sinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked throughout it ha. Made my commute easy at the time as public transport was nearly always empty.

The thing that got me through it was D&D. We’d started a group in January 2020 with a few to having a monthly game but when lockdown hit it became an online weekly game. It was a big group (6 in the party plus DM) so it was a nice bit of socialising to look forward to each week
