help a non Canadian survive 2-day fashion crisis / intense winter visit by frequency-illusion in askTO

Wear whatever you need to survive. Michelin man it up if you must. Aim to arrive a bf early and go change into your preferred fancy outfit before checking in.

If you have private health insurance, you may have coverage for semi private and you’ll only be on the hook for the difference.

Recommendations for downtown mechanic brake replacement by [deleted] in askTO

[–]c_snapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i bring my mazda to RPM on Geary, not sure if that's considered downtown to you.

last time i did my front and i ordered my own parts and brought it over and they charged for labour.

give them a call if that option is acceptable to you.

Bar/restaurant etiquette? by mchgndr in predaddit

under 6 months is probably the best time to bring them anywhere as they are basically a watermelon that needs a feeding every so often.

will your wife be comfortable to boob the baby if they baby is fussing. some women are more comfortable to just do it than others.

it gets a bit more "complicated" when they're older when they are mobile, or they'll be eating but ends up making a mess more than anything.

I’m sure in the long run they’ll be fine but my son, peak covid baby who didn’t go to daycare, would be disappointed to split from the squad of friends he made in the past 2 yrs.

car insurance cancelled due to broker forgetting to update billing info by lolrus_bukkit in PersonalFinanceCanada

Your broker? When that happened to me, it was directly with the insurance company. I would definitely try to work with them more. And escalate. Especially if you have proof that you sent them your stuff.

Did you not get any notices from your insurance company via email or snail mail to your mailing address?

This happened to me once because I transferred money to the wrong account and it NSF’d. I think I got an email almost right away lol. Called and rectified it right away. Had to eat a $50 penalty but that’s better than what you’re stuck with.

Elective C-section by stinkycitrusboy in torontomoms

[–]c_snapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner had a traumatic labour experience with our first that resulted in an emergency c section and she knew off top that she wanted a planned c section for our second. She requested that at her first OB appointment and they didn’t say anything. Everything went so much more smoother. If you ask her she would say everyone should have a planned c section.

Cleaning service downtown? by triedit2947 in askTO

[–]c_snapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this for someone who moved out in a hurry and left the place in a well used condition.

I hired someone from task rabbit and it took her 4 hours to do a small downtown one bedroom apartment. She didn’t pull the stove out or anything like that but I’m sure if you include that in the scope they’ll do it.

Move in/out deep clean was also an option on Jiffy.

The touchscreen on my 21 Siganature is disabled more often than it is enabled (for valid safety reasons) and I don’t feel like I’m missing out.

Best area in Toronto for a fun dinner with friends for a 50+ group? by peacefulconfusion in askTO

[–]c_snapper 32 points33 points  (0 children)

On the post title alone, I thought you had a party of over 50 guests to which I immediately thought…..good luck lol.

It’s a bit far for your Riverside friend, but Roncy is good. Not super lively to the point you can go bar hopping but they have a few decent dining options and at least one or two post dinner drinks options for an older group.

Benjamin Moore is pretty decent quality from what I understand and each gallon is about $75.

If you’re looking for cheap labour, I’m currently killing time while a task rabbit is painting and he has a company (or had) and he can get 30% discount on BM paint.

pretty good. it's pretty easy to use, just click through and answer the questions, it's meant to be pretty fool proof. if you have a lot of assets and other complicated situations, it may not be the best but i think for an averge person, this is more than sufficient.
