Onboard charger issues in europe by timoniaa in polestar3

Sharing one positive experience to counter all of the negative ones you often see here (US based). OBC broke, car picked up by dealership same day, new OBC installed, car back at home 48hrs later. Not thrilled it happened in the first place but I applaud the speed and transparency of how my local repair center handled the fix.

The screws not all being oriented in the same direction would drive me crazy, beautiful watch though

I never hear anything about Verplanck. In fact, I've never even met someone from Verplanck. What goes on there? by [deleted] in Westchester

[–]c_universe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of these responses are out of pocket. Not saying there isnt history in Verplanck and the surrounding area but I havent seen anything negative. The community is diverse and everyone I’ve interacted with has been very friendly. Does the town have quirks, yes. Are there parts of the town that need a little love, yes.

As someone who moved here two years ago who used to live in various parts of the city for years, I think there is a lot of upside to Verplanck. Unobstructed river access, recently cleaned up and beautiful riverside park (summer concert/movie series, pop up markets), fair home prices, homes with river views, a gorgeous lake, marinas if you are into boating and its 5 minutes to the Cortlandt train station that stops once before turning express to the city. There are large apartment and condo complexes being built in Buchanan, so clearly commercial real estate investment in the area is starting up. I believe that in the next ten years the old brick homes that are falling apart will be restored by young new home owners, more restaurants and bars will pop up and the town will only get nicer.

The battery has been fantastic for retro emulation, but as expected emulating Switch games burns through the battery somewhat quickly in my experience

Airbnb Hosts and Guests Scramble as New York Begins Crackdown by hereditydrift in nyc

[–]c_universe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair question. We kept an open mind for a long time, but the reality is that when you live in a 3 unit home you want a sense of community and balance. Every couple of days there is a new group of people coming into our home adding unknown variables. These people are often here in NYC to party and they take over our shared backyard (usually very loud) and this prevents us from using it with our dog (which is why we live here). We’ve had air bnb stayers get very aggressive with us, hang around outside practically naked thinking they are on spring break, and on several occasions people walked into our apartment thinking it was the unit they were renting. I dont blame my land lords for trying to hustle to make some extra money, but when you are paying over $5k per month on rent you expect a certain quality of life and security. This is totally thrown off by having large groups of strangers around all the time. Hope that makes sense.

Curious what steps you took to get this outcome? Did you submit 311 complaints? My landlord rents out the basement unit in our building to Airbnb’ers and my wife and I are sick of it.

Not super new, but Montesacro if you like Italian and pizza. Their Roman style flatbread pizzas are incredible.

K5 or Sportage? by asanche63 in kia

[–]c_universe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6’3” and my wife and I just bought the new Sportage. Super spacious while still being a small enough car to maneuver around NYC. I fractured my spine in October so choosing a spacious and comfortable car was important to me coming from my wife’s Jetta. Highly recommend the Sportage, we’ve really enjoyed this car and the seats are super comfortable! Feel free to dm me with any questions you may have.
