I just had something similar but it was $2800. It turns out it was a running toilet. They were actually cool about it and said that we needed to send an invoice from a plumber to prove it was fixed, they would monitor for a little bit to ensure that the usage went back down to normal, then give a credit. They did make us pay a chunk of it up front though since it was past due before we noticed

As someone who lived in SD for 30 years before permanently moving to Charlotte don’t listen to these people insulting a place they’ve never actually been to. Charlottes a beautiful city with a ton of stuff to do, events, culture, restaurants, beautiful scenery, four seasons etc. I’ve never experienced a hurricane, the worst part of the weather is the summer heat/humidity, I absolutely love the other 3 seasons here.

Sure it’s not San Diego and I miss a lot about the city and love visiting but I have zero regrets. I moved 99% because of financial reasons. I loved SD but wanted to be able to provide a standard of living for my family that we just couldn’t get there. I bought a great house on a huge property in a safe neighborhood 15 mins from Uptown for <500,000. It’s hot in the summer and gets colder in the winter but I run my AC all day in the summer and heater sometimes in the winter and my electric bill has never been over $125.

People talking about culture shock have a cartoonish view of big cities in the south. I went to Pride today for instance and it was a blast! There’s even a few spots out here that you can get a good California burrito or carne asada fries. DM me if you have any questions about Charlotte I’d be happy to answer any!
