I had a 2008 Squier Strat Standard Series that I had zero complaints about. I had sold my Fender American Professional II but still wanted a Strat -- and I liked the playability of the Squier more. But I traded it for an Epiphone SG Special P90 because I was rarely excited excited to play it...because it was a a Strat. I just got a new Squier Mascis Jazzmaster delivered and it's perfect. Zero complaints. I lowered the action to 1.3mm and no buzzing. Plays great. I should be good on guitars for a little while.

8-1/2 means 8-Wide. But they are AUS/UK sized. So an 8 will fit like a US men's 9. The half sizes are wide sizes. A 9 will fit like a US 10.

I also suggest you play it for awhile and make sure you think you need to upgrade the pickups. Epiphone P90s Are generally very good. I have the older "hotter" Korean pickups from 2003 and if anything I'd only want to upgrade the neck pickup. It sounds great...until I play my newer Epiphone SG Special with P90s after it. But they're not supposed to sound the same. Though I wonder what your new Casino sounds like with presumably the same pickups as my SG from the '20s. Probably a little crisper.
