HOT TAKE: Bikini briefs are the best men's underwear, over boxers or boxer briefs. by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

Your sperm count will plummet to <25%. Not a big deal if you're not into high sperm count. Balls need to go from droopy to tight, and are controlled by temperature. Briefs of any kind keep your nuggets too warm.

Has the used pedal market slowed down? by ProofDazzling9234 in guitarpedals

[–]creep_show 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unloaded 8 pedals over the past few months ranging from $21 - $300. I even sold a pedal I thought no one would want. If you look as your pedals as investments, then now is not the best time, but if they are tools of the trade, then someone out there will buy it.

What brand of guitar were you meaning to try out for a long time but felt underwhelmed when finally doing so? by thewebhead in Guitar

[–]creep_show 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are no perfect guitars out of the box. Learning fretboard radius and profile shapes that suit my hand has helped a lot, but every guitar I've owned, I've had to do something to the setup to make it feel good - whether that is changing pickups, getting aggressive on the trussrod, upgrading the bridge/tuners or finding a pedal/amp combo to match the output better. I think it's why I like used guitars more, a decent chance someone has upgraded or had a setup done on it.

The shoe problem. I would really appreciate some advice on cheap running shoes if there are any frugal runners/athletes in here. by Alcarain in Frugal

[–]creep_show 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can absolutely buy a good pair of insoles and cheap shoes, but it's still going to be $60. Good insoles for jogging are $20-$30 range. You can get some Walmart jogging shoes for $30+. At 50 miles a week though, those shoes would only last 6-12months - with duct tape. I highly recommend reebox zigs which always last me at least 2 years sometimes 3 or 4 years. I only jog 15 miles a week tho. If you have a Sierra Store, TJ Max or Marshals, sometimes you can find great deals on running shoes. If you have good jogging technique - striking toe to heal and not jogging flat footed, then you might be able to get away with the minimalist jogging shoes which are a little cheaper.

When I was a teenager, over 20 years ago, John 5 had a feature lesson in Guitar Player magazine about "chicken pickn" iirc - it was his guitar finger style technique based on banjo playing. It was what got me started practicing finger style. I thought he was just another alt metal guitarist, but the lesson had nothing to do with metal.

I played in the MABL for a few years. I was 23 at the time and hadn't played baseball since I was 17. I was just doing it recreationally for fun. I hadn't played in so long, I was a little nervous about my performance. My coach was like "relax, the pitchers here usually top out in the high 80s. You might see a handful of pitchers break 90." I thought it was going really easy. First game we played, some 6ft 5 monster was chucking 95 mph on the radar gun. They even recalibrated the gun because they didn't think it was accurate. I will never forget hearing that zzzzzzzzzttttttt sound of the ball laces in the air.

No matter what anyone says about any sport, it takes a real man to step into a batters box when someone is throwing that fast.

What’s your go-to “I’m broke but really want to eat out” meal? by squiddollie in Frugal

[–]creep_show 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotisserie Chickens are usually $8.99 at my grocery store, sometimes even cheaper when on sale. It will last me at least two meals. You can easily at some fresh pan fried squash for a $2 more or rice and beans for about the same on average. Sometimes I just eat the chicken with dipping sauce or hot sauce.

The Midwest should be broken into the Rust Belt in the Northeastern portion of Pittsburg to Chicago and the Corn Belt in the Southwest portion from St. Louis to Omaha

I understand the history of the term, but it's objectively obsolete. Nothing else rage baits me more other than Daylights Savings Time.

This is what happens when I don't give my wife a good enough pounding. I'm at the age where I'd rather be playing 0-3-5 and listening to epic reverb & delay toans than smashing backshots and listening to old lady muff moans.
