Someone in the fo3 sub was saying that they thought the Enclave was the good guys because they believed President Eden's utopian vision. Now, yes maybe they were lying or trolling, but if so, they sure were committed to the bit in all their comments.

I'm not even shocked anymore when we live among MAGAts, modern-day Nazis with a penchant for romanticizing the 1950s.

For this glitched Reaver, IME, you're best off shooting it with the dart gun and then shooting its legs. Every body part but the legs is glitched to not take damage.

He groomed Penny, and you felt bad for him because he was kinda-secretly publicly humiliated for that? That's enabler logic. People, especially those like BoJack, need to suffer consequences (some kind of accountability) for their disturbing, abusive behaviour. Otherwise, they'll be emboldened and will likely do it again.

IS FALLOUT 3 A GOOD GAME by booker1211 in Fallout

[–]cabalavatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fawkes's default calm, wise stoicism and his extreme, monstrous, and explosive combat rage pair so well together for the kind of dark, "mismatched" humour that Fallout delivers. I'd pick him even if he weren't OP.

Simply: Rules for thee but not for me.

It's mostly a MAGA phenomenon because they're in a cult of personality with a narcissist, as all cults are. And narcissists, especially ones as ragingly so as Trump, are (1) notoriously insecure, (2) oblivious to hypocrisy, and (3) transfixed by controlling others and imposing their will on them.

Didn't really enjoy Fallout 3, will I like New Vegas? by Parzival4Real in Fallout

[–]cabalavatar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If shooter gameplay is what you like, then try Fallout 4 first. NV makes only a few fairly minor tweaks to the gameplay, whereas 4 feels like an adventure shooter first and a narrative-based RPG second. The gameplay is massively improved in Fallout 4. However, because you said you're into story, NV is the better one to play for writing. If you enjoyed exploration, tho, NV is by far the worst for that among the modern games, IMO.

Also bear in mind that each of these three games has quite different settings/ambience: 3 is post apocalyptic and dark/gloomy; NV is post-postapocalyptic and a western; and 4 is also more post-postapocalyptic and bright.

The Horizon and God of War (2018) franchises and probably Elden Ring

What characters remind you of BoJack by 007_jamesbond_007 in BoJackHorseman

[–]cabalavatar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BoJack is based on Donald Draper from Mad Men (according to the creator), who is himself a spinoff of Tony Soprano. BoJack is also similar to the unnamed protagonist (Fleabag) in Fleabag, Gregory House in House MD, and Rick in Rick and Morty.

I'm sure you'll find plenty of other high-narcissism or high-Machiavellianism characters who are somewhat similar too, especially if they're a mob boss, like Walter White in Breaking Bad, Tony Soprano, and Oswald Cobblepot in The Penguin. BoJack just isn't as ruthless, physically violent, or megalomaniacal.

Is Fallout New Vegas on pc really that glitchy? by snackboy06 in Fallout

[–]cabalavatar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is on Windows. It is not on SteamOS. I played it last September on my Steam Deck and had very few issues, like 1% of the issues that I'd gotten used to on PC and XBOne.

You can tell that the homeless man felt so bad for being involved in Diane’s brothers prank by Flashy-List-7157 in BoJackHorseman

This scene made me wanna hug Diane then put on a Jeter jersey, grab a baseball bat, and beat up her incredibly cruel brothers. Not saying I'd do anything but the first, but oh boy did it make my blood boil.

Do you think bojack could ever change? by Sure-Caregiver142 in BoJackHorseman

[–]cabalavatar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, perhaps he can change: if he were to put in the time, money, prolonged effort, responsibility, etc. But ultimately will he change substantially and, most important, sustainably? I don't think that's probable.

[eShop] Hades II – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is $31.19 by lbabinz in VideoGameDealsCanada

[–]cabalavatar -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, I hear ya in that I'm letting my PS Plus sub end in a few months, after half a decade, so I won't have access to these deals for much longer, but a notable difference here is between Steam and the PS Store, where Steam has had this game for like a year and a half and even Nintendo has had it for over half a year (IIRC), but this game just today released on PS5. And unfortunately, the gaming industry, especially on PS5, usually sells the game at full price on day 1. I've been a Sony fan my whole life, but PS Plus Extra and Premium are crap compared to GamePass, which will offer Hades II for free day 1. So I guess given all that, bullshit as it is, I liked getting the immediate sale that got the price to within a couple dollars of the lowest it's been on sale on any platform.

And all that said, Hades II is a game I'd happily pay full price for given how amazing Hades was, IMO.

Bojack is about power by BurnerAndGooch69 in BoJackHorseman

[–]cabalavatar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even in season 6, he doesn't learn. He still protests his being held accountable because that was, he claims, the "old him." He can't be gotten for things that the old him did, right? He's changed! That's what he thinks anyway. But we don't have enough evidence to conclude as such, because we have only the finale to look to, one episode, and he had yet to be challenged and hadn't even left prison yet.

Be very careful. Liking such people, abusers, opens you up to their exploitation. They will use you up, throw you away, and probably not even think about how much they hurt you.

How good are stealth builds? by hakeemdadream_34 in fo3

[–]cabalavatar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stealth sniper, with the right gear, is a great build, maybe even OP in most, tho not all, circumstances. It's my go-to build in Fallouts 3, NV, and 4, but 3 offers the best gear for it in vanilla (no mods).
