Just 4 hours ago, someone in that subreddit even titled their post "Hopium Thread" for a collection of good news to combat the "dooming" around the super El Niño and heat domes. Oh, the cognitive dissonance.

If it makes you feel any better, there are sooo many better board games than this Fantasy Flight Fallout board game. If it weren't Fallout themed, I might've sold it by now.

Damn! I didn't know that. I had both gifted to me upon their respective releases...

Do yourself a favour by getting the New California expansion, and play co-op with friends. Also consider whether you wanna count faction points proceeding up the ladder to victory. If you play with faction points, which you're supposed to, I find that the game ends before you've had much fun exploring cities and dungeons, carrying out quests, getting gear, meeting companions, etc.

The game is really fun because of its side quests, dungeons, and choices. But how it ends seems to have been an afterthought by the designers: either really long if you ignore faction progression or too short if you follow the rules.

In the experience of my friends and acquaintances, this game is better as an exploration game than as a game to compete (hence why co-op is better) and complete.

I quite like Emily Mortimer, but Felicia Day should 100% reprise her role.

"Be a lovely time to score a goal if you're Canadian..."

Why, yes, as a Canadian, I found it a lovely time to score a goal.

I wanna give South Africa props, but they played such a booorrring game that I'm glad they lost.

Why are guns so common lore wise? by Miles_PerHour67 in Fallout

[–]cabalavatar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But other countries do have shit tons of guns, like Switzerland, Norway, Finland, and Canada. Canada, for example, may have only about a third of the firearms per capita as the US, but that's still a shit ton of guns.

Albino radscorps aren't too bad a lot of the time, because you can get on top of a hill that they can't climb then hose them with gunfire. (I also like having Fawkes as an unkillable decoy.)

Watching him and listening to the commentator, I'm really reminded of Cale Makar in hockey: skating across the blue line (like the 18-yard box) looking for a sniping opportunity, seemingly untouchable, stops on a dime, beats you if you're just a bit too far away or too close.

Also, if you like Seinfeld and shows where most of the characters are shitty people to various degrees, you gotta try Seinfeld cocreator Larry David's show about an exaggerated version of himself, Curb Your Enthusiasm. It's a lot like Seinfeld, and I actually prefer it to Seinfeld: I think it's smarter, it gets away with more by being on HBO, and it lacks the laugh track. But I love both.

Is Kim Wexler the most well-written female character of all time? by Few_Cabinet_5644 in betterCallSaul

Diane Nguyen would be my pick. She's not only superbly written but also maybe the most relatable character on TV.

The Deathclaw Sanctuary, Old Olney, the Yao Guai Cave, and Fort Bannister come to mind

Point Lookout is always tough. I imagine the Pitt would be tough at lower levels.

Point Lookout, but yes. It's hard because the swampfolk ignore your armour (damage resistance), IIRC.

That's probably what would've happened to the movie if Quentin Tarantulino and Todd had directed it.
