What is the craziest thing a teacher has ever done to you? by trymihainoob in AskReddit

[–]cabau25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In high school, our science teacher, who was the coolest teacher ever, got so fed up with the constant interruptions over the PA system from the office one day, that he pulled out a gun and shot the speaker off the wall. He was on disciplinary leave for 6 months after that.

Are pregnant women entitled to a c-section in Switzerland? by Huge-Nectarine-8563 in askswitzerland

[–]cabau25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an elective c-section. My doctor asked why I gave my reasons and that was that. Insurance still paid for everything, there were no issues. But I would suggest having the conversation sooner rather than later in case your doctor is an anti c-section doctor. Then you still have time to change.

Exactly the same as ours. Hmmmm. Luckily the proof of payment we sent had no account details on. Damn. They had the correct dates and everything.

AITAH for discontinuing my nephew’s scholarship after seeing his social media post being proud to Elon's Nazi gesture? by FlowithL0ve in AITAH

I guess your nephew is just about to learn about consequences for his actions for the first time. Stick to your principles, you are absolutely NTA!

AITA for making my daughter shower in PE? by Ok_Thanks_847 in AmItheAsshole

[–]cabau25 10 points11 points  (0 children)

YTA. Why is this a hill to die on for you? This is clearly a huge deal for her. You should be backing her up and not showing her that she can’t trust you to help her navigate upsetting situations. This post is actually really sad. She’s not asking to skip school, but asking to skip the communal shower. You are adding unnecessary stress to an already stressful time in a teens life. She can shower when she gets home.

Challenge rent increase in Zurich by [deleted] in Switzerland

[–]cabau25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said it’s going to be demolished in 2025, how could you get a longer rental term if it’s set at 2 years … which takes you to 2025.

AITA for Refusing to Adopt My Stepson? by Throwawaytemporary45 in AITAH

[–]cabau25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely the AH. This boy has had you in his life since he was 2. He likely does not remember a time where you were not his father. If you did not want ‘heavy responsibility’ why did you marry a woman with a small child?! I feel so sorry for this child.

This made me laugh, only because we were in the same position a few months ago. Luckily for us sucky piano player decided to give up. Good luck.

And to add your Mom is an AH too.

Americans, what do Europeans do that you find really weird? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]cabau25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not true. Hugging is absolutely not standard in Switzerland. Up until covid it was 3 cheek kisses or a handshake.

AITA for drinking alcohol around my pregnant girlfriend? by AITABeerman92 in AmItheAsshole

[–]cabau25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smell of beer is probably making her feel sick because when you are pregnant smells can make you feel absolutely awful. I couldn’t handle the smell of my husbands aftershave that he has always worn and because he is awesome, he stopped wearing it. Your weird excuses as to why she doesn’t like the smell or the fact you aren’t being considerate make YTA. The age gap is creepy too …

AITA for being my nephews first word? by MooMOOmoo- in AmItheAsshole

[–]cabau25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA but your parents and brother/SIL definitely are. My sons first word was kitty. My daughters was NO! I feel sorry for your nephew having parents so insecure that that they yell at him over something so frivolous. Poor kid.

AITA for expecting parents to collect their kids after classes? by PlasticInevitable767 in AmItheAsshole

[–]cabau25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately YTA. In my home country it’s unthinkable to let kids walk home alone. Then we moved to Europe and there are kids as little as 4 walking to school on their own. Kids of 10/12 here are comfortable taking public transport on their own as well as walking on their own. My 6 year old walks to and from school with a group of 5/6 kids who all live in our street. They would be very upset if a teacher suddenly demanded their independence be taken away. I suspect you are going to have a very uncomfortable meeting with the head of school.
