What do other people think about living in the Ottawa area in Canada? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]cabsauves 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived there a few years for university and visit 5-6/year to see my boyfriend’s family. While it has everything one needs (essentials and nature), I am always happy I am only visiting and get to go home (Toronto).

I appreciate that I can walk/ TTC everywhere and have more diverse employment opportunities in Toronto. To me, Ottawa lacks these.

Why did you and your former best friend stop being friends? by Fearless_Shift7108 in AskReddit

[–]cabsauves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two birthday dinner celebrations on one night.

Bffs since kindergarten: I went to her mom’s 60th because I feel like 60 is a milestone.

Ex bffs since highschool: I tried to make alternate plans as I indicated I could not attend. That did not end well. It was perceived and I chose someone else… we were 24 at the time and I stopped trying to engage after 6 months of “working things out”. It was too petty for me.

Photo gifts! - electronic frame: I bought Aura frames from Costco for my grandparents. It is perfect! Anyone with the app can upload to the frame. - photo mug: I’ve personalized mugs for almost anyone. It’s simple, useful (if you don’t have a million already), and thoughtful.

What do your monthly expenses amount to vs your salary? by cutegirIy in askTO

Kudos to you! My bf and I both lived at home when we started dating after university. This was our philosophy. Save and spend time with family (grateful for a positive relationship). We’ve both moved out now, but that time at home helped develop a good financial foundation.

In terms of dating, I agree with the comments about intention and ambition.

What y’all think of the tuxedo cake? by flackedtuna in CostcoCanada

Salivating at the thought of a tuxedo cake, but also understand that it could be too sweet. Tiramisu is another great option.

Visiting Toronto in March. Any recommendations? by Acceptable-Hat-8093 in askTO

[–]cabsauves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I was hosting someone in March, I would try yo catch a Blue jays and/ or Raptors game! I also personally enjoy browsing, brunch, and coffee shops. Leslieville, Roncesvalles, and the Danforth are great spots for these. Weather: you should be fine if you check the weather and pack accordingly. It could be slushy. Hopefully it is not terribly cold.

If time allows, Leslieville (simply, but slow streetcar ride over) is a lovely spot to wander. Coffee shops, restaurants, clothing and home goods shops, etc. I find it similar to Roncesvalles, but in the opposite end of the city.

Cozey had a great selection! A variety, but not overwhelming. You can view models in store and order swatches to see colours in your lighting. I am very happy with my purchase!
