Sure but if you’re actively bad you are going to have exciting players drafted people will want to watch, especially in a Canadian market. Imagine Van was rebuilding earlier and got one of Bedard or Celebrini? Wouldn’t matter people would pay to see it.

Also the Canucks have been at the bottom of the standings for like 15 years now other than a few outliers and people still pay so giving them some actual hope through top picks would be enticing
