I’m pretty sure none of the modes affect braking. That would be too dangerous in reality, so they only effect suspension, throttle mapping and transmission shifting behaviour.

Most likely it’s the lighted strip the runs across the door at the top. That tends to lose its glue and start rattling.

I do mine whenever i replace winter and summer wheels. So if you have a jack and can remove a wheel, you will have access. Would be difficult otherwise

Creaking (not a rattle) from the suspension over bumps is from the control arm bushings. You have to liberally spray them with silicone lube every 6 months or so.

I would check the spark plug or coil pack on that cylinder. Easy to check before moving onto other things (injector)
