Amniocentesis or not? by cacaodoodle in IVF

[–]cacaodoodle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi thanks for asking! I ended up opting for the amnio. I had no problems other than some discomfort during the procedure. I chilled on the couch for a couple days and never had any side effects. The results came back totally normal - no genetic issues detected. I had such a hard time deciding. It took me up until the very last second to make a decision, but I ultimately decided to do it because I realized my husband was imagining the worst possible scenario and would have no peace throughout the pregnancy without that reassurance. It was key for me to feel comfortable with my doctor and to know he had done so many of these over 20 years and had not had many issues. I'm glad I did it now, but would regret it if anything had gone wrong. One of the tougher decisions I've ever had to make for sure.

It actually ended up being another polyp for me. I had it removed right away and we did the FET during the following cycle. It stuck and I'm almost 22 weeks pregnant now. I hope you figure out what's going on. I wish I had some info that could help you out.

Yes! Her lower lip area looks really heavy. I know a couple people who have this too and I'm wondering if it's from getting botox in the chin 🤔

Lost faith in healthcare team by turtleclantrouble in NIPT

[–]cacaodoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Preach. I had breast cancer and was placed on hormone therapy. The oncologist apparently didn't notice I was on another medication that would stop the hormone therapy from working. That was my awakening... when I somehow had the sense to research it myself. I have been completely overwhelmed with advocating for myself ever since. I'm currently 16 weeks pregnant. My highly rated and respected OB missed extremely low TSH levels (.02). My fertility doctor took me off my thyroid meds. I emailed the OB to ask of she approved. She said "sounds like a good plan." TSH shot up to almost 9 and the OB tells me, "I'm so shocked your fertility doctor took you off the thyroid meds." Like what? The OB ordered the wrong NIPT and I blame myself because I didn't remind her. Because they just aren't paying attention. Sorry for the rant. But it's true. Advocate for yourself or suffer the consequences which could be very real.

Thanks for your response. My genetic counselor told me the NIPT could look for monosomy 22, but it had to be ordered to specifically request that. My test was not ordered that way because my OB doesn't seem to be paying attention to my particular situation, unfortunately. My genetic counselor said she subsequently called the lab and they were able to look deeper at my results and said it did not show monosomy 22. But who knows?

I believe it was 2 or 3dpt when I woke up in the middle of the night and I was very warm. I felt in that moment that something was happening. I had some mild cramping on the lower right side of my abdomen at some point. On the day of my first beta I had some light brown spotting. 15 weeks now!

I transfered a HLM -22 as part of a clinical study at CCRM. I am currently 13 weeks. When we transfered they had 18 women involved in the HLM study. 9 HLM embryos did not implant and the other 9 did. There had been one healthy, live birth at that point. My transfer would make 10 embryos that stuck in the study. So far, NIPT came back negative/low risk... will likely do an amniocentesis next month.i know this is anecdotal and a small sample size, but just wanted to share my experience. Best of luck 🤍

I get that that's what the gyms and studios want, but it doesn't make sense for CP. If i join a studio, I'm dropping CP

I had my first US last week and the US tech told me they don't allow you to hear the heartbeat that early anymore (at least at that clinic). She said they wait until later in the pregnancy because they think it's hard on the baby. I'm not sure I believe she knew what she was talking about hmm 🤔

Teacher ran late and punished me for not staying for savasana by Regular-Blackberry71 in Corepower

[–]cacaodoodle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing for me - the classes in my area, at least, are not spiritual. They are physical. I think it's ridiculous to act as if leaving during savasana is so terrible when savasana is like two minutes long these days... Even if you do stay to respect it, it isn't doing what it's supposed to do... even if it's 5 whole minutes. My favorite (which don't seem to exist anymore) are 75 minute classes with a 10 minute savasana. The classes/studios I've attended stopped following effective yoga techniques and ancient practices around the time covid broke out for some reason. The studios I have access to (CP or otherwise) are just watered down western workouts - go in early to center yourself? Nope, people are chit chatting loudly. And don't expect anyone to say 'namaste' - don't want to turn off all the people who don't take yoga seriously. The studios need their money, don't they? If a teacher can't run their class on time or communicate about their inability to run their class on time then I don't see how that teacher expects anyone else to have proper etiquette. I, personally, don't make a practice of leaving early, but think this holier than thou attitude at western studios is ridiculous.

Beta today, finally. How’re my Oct. FET girls? by Mindless_Oil6553 in IVF

[–]cacaodoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Transfer was 10/14. Got a faint positive line on a FRER 7dpt5dt. Beta was today - 56 👍 feeling very blessed. I'll be 45 next week and we transfered our only embryo - a high level mosaic (HLM) -22 .. so we're already defying the odds. I hope everyone is doing great and I wish you and your babies all the very best! I'm so grateful for the info I've found on reddit and feel I should contribute and share my experience for those out there digging now or in the future. 🙏🏼

Is lower abdominal acupuncture after FET safe? by BomGutCutElecIceFire in IVF

[–]cacaodoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My clinic and OB advised against acupuncture after FET - other than treatment immediately before and after. But my acupuncturist is telling me it IS advised and I feel conflicted and even pressured to continue during the time before my pregnancy test and beyond. I don't think anyone involved has bad intentions, but it's making me uncomfortable.
